My garden has been largely neglected but lately I have been taking time out on Sunday mornings to tend to my plants. It's a joy to step out of the house to see these cheery looking leaves.
These are colorful and rather pretty. I don't know what they are called.
They came in a black bag with a plant that my dad brought all the way from Terengganu.
Then I have these hibiscus. Pinks and reds. The yellow one is half dead but I am trying to revive it.
Bought this one from a nursery in Sungai Buloh.
I can spend hours at the Sungai Buloh nurseries. It's like paradise to me. I want to buy everything. Haven't been there for ages because nobody wants to take me there hah..hah..
I remember once waking up at 3:00am to shift a plant I bought so that it could be sheltered from the heavy rain. Crazy, eh?
This red double petaled one started off as a tree branch which I dragged all the way from the open air carpark at Aeon. We plant lovers are willing to so all sorts of things to posses the plant that we covet.
This multi-petal came from my dad's garden. It's so pretty, like a pom-pom.
And the there's the herbs.
These daun pegaga sprang to life recently.
I thought I had lost this plant forever.
Mint. Loads and loads of mint. They are doing very well right now.
Very handy when I want to make kerabu.
These are the daun selasih seedlings grown from the seeds that my dad brought from Terengganu not too long ago.
They are growing well. Need to be transplanted into other pots so that they are not overcrowded.
My bunga kantan has been quite productive lately.
Love these in kerabu and laksa.
And these are bunga telang (blue pea flower) seedlings. Hope to see blue flowers in a bit. Nasi kerabu? hee..hee...
Nice garden. I also neglected my garden lately because of rain. Now the sun is out, I have some time unweed the garden. Lol.
ReplyDeleteLovely pink hibiscus. Never seen such before.
This year, I must really, really clean up my garden :)
DeleteMy mint is starting to look good, thank goodness. Had given up hope on it...and my rosemary too. Daun selasih is Thai basil leaves? I've lots, doing very well...and I've daun pagaga too. Hope to plant some bunga kantan someday. I'm not into flowers...more into edible herbs and leaves. Daun kesum, Vietnamese coriander is easy to plant - great for steaming fish and meat, very fragrant.
ReplyDeleteYes, daun selasih is another variety of Thai basil. I had a vision of planting a herb garden. Some of these herbs flower too and would be pretty. I'm still working on it.
DeleteSegar bugar semua tanaman PH ni..semua ada senang kan, nak guna petik ajer kat laman.
ReplyDeleteBetul tu Lina. Tak payah beli kat pasar atau supermarket.
DeleteGood Morning Ah Hong Chee. Your garden looks like you were "Alice In Wonderland" with all the pom pom bunga and ulat-ulat dancing happily like the Keluarga Kimball Tomato Sauce advertisement.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see the Bunga Kantan and could hear the wedding bells with Stupid Cupids flying on your head. Wakakakaka

Garden wedding? hah..hah...
Deletenice garden you have there after all the work and time you put into it. pretty flowers and leaves and useful tasty herbs.
ReplyDeleteMy garden keep me sane and happy :)
DeleteHaving your own garden of herbs comes in very handy for some of the dishes you want to cook :) It's very difficult to buy different types of fresh herbs when you only need a little for a particular dish.
ReplyDeleteVery practical as sometimes I can't get some of these herbs from the supermarket and it's very frustrating when I want to make a particular dish.
DeleteWish I had green fingers...
ReplyDeleteHave you tried planting?

ReplyDeleteI guess your garden is very pretty with all these colourful plants and flowers.... I'm imagining using those small leaves as prop for my food photo shooting but unfortunately my balcony garden is so empty with miserably looking plants ~>_<~
ReplyDeleteIt's quite messy actually that'e why you only see close up shots hah..hah..
DeleteThe mint leaves can use to make soup or herbal drink?
ReplyDeleteBoth also can!
DeleteWish to visit your garden if got chance, hehehe!
ReplyDeleteI would love to plant my own mint leaves too! Simply love the nice scent of it.
You will pengsan because it's like small jungle LOL!
DeleteLove the red pom-pom hibiscus. It is beautiful! Hubby doesn't eat mint leaves, so I gave up growing mint leaves.
ReplyDeleteActually, I hardly eat the mint since I don't make kerabu so often.
DeleteWow, what a nice kebun you have PH, jeleznya you ada bunga kantan and bunga telang, where can ai get that bunga telang seed eh?
ReplyDeleteThanks, ticer. Tapi my kebun takde buah, so don't jelez. Bunga telang seed, have to ask from friend or neighbour. Mine kecik lagi, if not I can give you the seeds.
DeleteYour garden is looking good! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joyce!
