One morning (last week) when I arrived at the office, the soft mewing of a kitten caught my attention.
But I did not see any kitten. Where was that sound coming from? Then I realized it was coming from the drain. I peered into the drain but there was no kitten in sight.
So I went up to the office to drop my things and came down again to look for the kitten.
I brought this along.
Kibble. I keep a jar in the office hee..hee... I placed some kibble at the edge of the drain.
Ah ha! There you are!
It took some time for her to pluck up courage to come to the food. She was obviously very hungry.
Oh! Look at her tail! So bushy! Then I had to get on with work and left the kittie, hoping to see her again.
The next morning there she was.
Again I placed some kibble on the ground.
Come come. Don't be shy.
There you go.
I tried to get friendly with her but she was still wary of me.
Then she took cover between two potted plants.
I reckon she was still hungry.
She was a bit braver now and came closer.
Auuuwww..... she is adorable!

My friend Lotus sent me this photo of a white snoozing kittie. Look, she has stripes on her tail and a black spot on her forehead.
I once came upon a while kitten near my office but at that time I was not into keeping pets. So I did not pursue her.
Meanwhile back at my house I had to deal with Ah Boi's antics. She is very cheeky.
She dashed into the house and jumped on my coffee table. Naughty girl!

Good morning it rained heavily in the wee hours last night. So adorable and tiny the kitten. Good that you had kept a jar of kibbles so you can feed her. She must be hungry. I hope someone has adopted her and she has found a home. Thanks for sharing my photo. This white kitten is well fed and has a good life just like our other neighbourhood cats. How did Ah boi get into the house to create a havoc lol. Will watch the video later when I am WFH in the afternoon.

DeleteOh, thank you! My house is very simple with minimal decor. That book is the second book by James Herriot. I finished the first book already. Yesterday it did not rain though temperature was cool. It might have rained late night since the ground was damp this morning.
DeleteDear friend PH, this entire post touched my heart deeply! Your photos of the orange kitten and your own cat are gorgeous! The orange kitten...I think the only way to capture her would be to bring a cat carrier and to put food into it...then close the door when she gets in! The white cat is beautiful, with unique markings! The orange one, my guess is that she was born outside which is why she isn't used to humans...yet and is very leery of anyone coming too close to her. The white one is an adult cat. My guess is that this cat is owned by someone by the size of her, she is definitely well fed. And she seems more used to people, as she is able to sleep calmly outside like that! They are both gorgeous cats. Lotus took a great photo of this white beauty!

It's too bad the kittie is no longer around or else I would have attempted to take her to the vet before bringing her home. Well, the video you shared really touched my heart which is why I am sharing it. Thank you, Linda!
DeleteI am so glad you were so touched by the video. :) Yes, if you had taken the kitten it is always best to get the animal checked by a veterinarian first, there are so many contagious conditions out there among cats, such as FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Hopefully the cat is safe and happy. :)
DeleteI really 🙏 some 😺🐈 rescuers took the kitty 🐈 to the vet for a health check before finding a furever home for the kitty. I know some 😺🐈 are very territorial and if there are territorial cats around your office, they may have chased this poor little kitty 🐈 away. 😭

ReplyDeleteYa, I was very taken by this little one and in a moment of madness (LOL!) I wanted to bring it home. But she is gone and I hope that she found a good home. Perhaps a blessing in disguise for me since I already have four at home!
