11.11

I had just delivered lunch and newspaper to mum and as I made my way down the road, there was a big truck trying to park outside one of the houses.

Since the truck was blocking the way, I took a different route behind my brother's house.

That's when I spotted some flowers outside the houses along the way.

I simply love flowers and I cannot resist taking a snapshot.

Later I had lunch at my favorite cafe.

It was 11-11-2025 and Halla Holla was having this coffee deal. But since there was only one of me, I could not take advantage of this deal.

After lunch I went for my usual walk.

This was outside Soylab. A new range of soy based desserts.

Genmaicha meets Soy. I wonder what Genmaicha taste like.

I have yet to visit a'rest.

At Luckin Coffee it said "Have A Buttery Holiday". Butter coffee? Shall I try it?

At The Starling, I saw some progress at Gu On.

They are opening soon.

I am looking forward to trying the food. Hope it is good.

This other outlet is their neighbor.

This one I suspect is most likely a China restaurant judging from that bowl of chili paste in the photo.

Meanwhile downstairs, Dim Dou Duck is having a Peking Duck promotion.

By the way, did you go on a shopping spree 11.11.2025?

  1. Hi dear friend, the quote is great! I think it is a good thing that you had to take a different route, because you came across these beautiful flowers that you took photos of and are sharing them here!
I stayed indoors today, so no shopping spree for me. The transit workers are still on strike and we got a LOT of snow! So much so that the schools closed for a "snow day". And many people (unfortunately) still don't have their winter tires, so between the bus strike, more cars on the road and the drivers without winter tires...it can get pretty dangerous, as sometimes when they brake they slip, not realizing how slippery the roads can get! So safer for me to stay in.
It's fine, I got some things done here and enjoyed looking at the beautiful snow from my window. I will be taking photos of the snow and will share them on future blog posts. :)
The bouquets of flowers are beautiful and the Peking duck makes me want some! LOL!
Thank you so much for sharing, dear PH.

    1. Hi Linda I had imagined how wonderful it gets over your side when you get the snow which you viewed the winter wonderland scenery from your window. I experienced my first snow and winter in Canada too but it was in Vancouver.

  3. Thank you for the details on shops and food in uptown. Genmaicha is green tea mixed with roasted brown rice so I wonder πŸ€” will the roasted brown rice taste be stronger or vice versa.
Thanks for the photos, now I feel like eating souffle pancakes in soylab. πŸ˜‹

  4. Ah, for the 11.11 promo, if halla holla allows takeaways, you could drink one in the cafe and take one home when u redeem the promo.

  5. Good that you took a different route which led you to discover gems on the other side of the road. Very lovely 🌹 flowers which I feasted my eyes on. They make my day beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I had tried Peking duck before and wasn't overwhelmed by it. Nope, no 11.11 shopping as I don't do online shopping. Have a good and happy day ahead!
