Salmon Bones
These salmon bones were for dinner. It has been a while since I had these.
That evening, I took out the defrosted salmon bones.
There is plenty of meat stuck to the bones and fins.
Into the air fryer at 200C for 20 minutes.
The bones came out crispy and nicely browned.
Very meaty and parts of the bones that were crispy were edible. I did not even need salt to eat the whole lot.
I also steamed some chicken for my girls.
And boiled chicken livers for them. It's worth the trouble. It costs slightly less than buying canned cat food. The main advantage is my girls get good nutrition and they poop less frequently, hence not-so-smelly litter boxes. That makes their Ma/Ah Ma very happy!
Happy Sunday to you! Good that your cats are making you very happy. I have been eating a lot of salmon belly quite frequently recently but salmon are expensive. They are good with lots of Omega 3. Sending you good vibes all the way from SG.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday! I love salmon belly as it is fatty and so tender and flavorful. Thank you for the good vibes!
DeleteWith so much salmon meat on the bones, it is as good as salmon steak. Yummy π
ReplyDeleteYour πΊπ are so blessed to have you as their mommy. Can get home cooked nutritious meals. Thank you! π
You are right! There was a lot of meat on the bones and I was satiated. I am blessed to have my kitties!
DeleteI remember my mom used to add chicken livers into the rice that she prepared for our pet dog long time ago and that smell...... I can't..... >_<
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean hah..hah,,, the liver smell is very strong. I have to put up with that when I boil the livers.
DeleteI remember enjoying fried salmon bones from my neighbourhood Sushi Mentai. May I ask why you need to place parchment paper underneath when steaming chicken for your girls...why not just steam it on a plate?
ReplyDeleteActually I lined a stainless steel bowl with baking paper and steamed the chicken in the lined bowl. Because from past experience, the bowl was difficult to clean because some meat and stuff stuck to it.
