Hello ....?

Is it me you're looking for...??? How many of you remember that Lionel Richie song?

When I was doing matriculation at Sekolah Sultan Mahmud, Kuala Terengganu, some of my cheeky classmates used to dial up the telephone operator and then go "Hello ......... Is it me you're looking for ...???" hah..hah..hah....

It is rather quiet in the blogosphere, at least at my end of the pond.  A majority of my blogging kakis have retired due to family commitments, blogging fatigue or whatever. I miss them a lot. Reading their updates (daily or every few days) was one of the highlights of my day.

Consequently, I get less comments now, which is fine. But surprisingly there are people who still read my blog. I continue to receive decent pageviews.

In December last year, for reasons unknown, I had a sudden surge in pageviews.

Of course it didn't stay that way and have reduced since.

Whoever you are who come by to have a read, thank you! I appreciate your visits. I guess it will get lonelier and lonelier as people migrate to other platforms like Instagram etc. But I'll be here for a while I think because I simply enjoy writing. It's good for my mental health too.

These few days leading up to Chinese New Year, restaurants are doing roaring business. There are many "sau kong" lunches going on.

Restaurants are doing special promotions and crafting special menus.

Red Kettle is very ang-ang (red) these days. They are as popular as ever but I haven't visited in a while. Maybe I will after Chinese New Year seeing that their Oyster Blade Steak is back on the menu.

There is always a queue during peak hours.

Even during off peak hours, you will never find this place empty.

Their neighbor Two Sons Bistro is not as busy but they do attract a decent number of diners.

Tang Room is super busy in spite of their steep prices. My partner swore that we will never return so I won't be coming here.

They have their Chinese New Year packages which make my eyes water.

The lowest package is RM158.00 per person.

Then there is the RM688.00 package for a table of four.

And then there is the package for 10 persons.

I won't be going for any such dinners so I will be at home enjoying the peace and quiet, just the way I like it.

One day I want to visit Fish With You just to see what it is all about. People are still queuing to get in.

Meanwhile next door, their neighbor is very quiet.

Last year I visited Teo Chew Lor (a few times) to eat my carnivore meals.

Maybe a revisit is in order.

This year will be Girl's fourth Chinese New Year with me. There will be many more, yes, Girl? zzzzzz......

    1. Thank you! Thank you! I am also a loyal reader of your blog. During those days we had to use the public phone which was right outside our hostel. So it was not monitored LOL!

  2. Luckily that day I went to starling mall, it was pretty quiet for both red kettle and the new sour spicy fish eateries. You would be eating CNY reunion dinner with your mother, right? Since your mother is in kl. Maybe you don't see it as reunion dinner but just eating dinner with your mother on CNY eve. My spouse would be eating dinner with his father on CNY eve since all his 3 siblings are not around on that day. Whether to call it a reunion dinner or not, I guess it depends on individual's definition of reunion dinners.

    1. I told my brother that we see each other all the time, so it's not a reunion LOL!

  3. I wish there are more fish places here. Problem looking for a place to eat on our no meat Fridays. Yes, if too expensive, I wouldn't want to go back again.

    1. Right now at my office area there is only one fish place. There used to be a Mr Fish at the mall but they moved to another location.

    1. Don't worry about pageviews. I think people come and view my old posts.

  5. My pageviews have gone down by half since I stopped posting (which was expected). Pageviews have always been associated with how active you are at posting and surfing and commenting in other blogs to direct traffic to your blog.

    3. Well, that's how much I enjoy your blog! I can't imagine what it must be like to not drink coffee ever again.
