Chinese New Year Eve


It was Chinese New Year eve (yesterday). I got up early and I went sprinting. Yes, these old bones went sprinting. 

It was only 4 sprints of 10 seconds each. It may not sound like much, 10 seconds. But trust me when you are running with all your might, 10 seconds can feel like an eternity.


When I got home, Girl followed me into house and she flopped onto the floor to get my attention. So I scooped her up in my arms and took a selfie (or two) with her.


Then I made breakfast. The last batch of soup with two eggs. After I was properly nourished it was time to do my chores.


I cleaned the car porch and the area outside my house. I also did some weeding and pruning of my plants. I also replaced and washed my cats' litter boxes. 

While I was busy, my three kiddos hung around near me.


Kittie Kat gave me this fierce look while sitting in what my partner calls "her Cleopatra pose". I was very pleased that she didn't kacau my garbage bags that were filled with plant cuttings/rubbish.


Meanwhile Belle Belle made herself very comfortable on top of the shoe shelf.


Now on to my precious selipar Jepun.


Tsk...tsk...tsk... no wonder I felt a poking poking sensation when I walked at certain instances. Luckily I did not get any injuries.


Both are on the right side which means I have to retire both pairs of slippers. I should have bought new ones before Daiso, The Starling closed. 


After my chores outside were done, it was time to reattempt another batch of kimchi. But before that, I had to refuel with iced Kopi C.


Back to kimchi. This time I added a secret ingredient.


I mean, why not, right? After all the Koreans use saeujeot (salted fermented shrimp) and local kimchi supplier Ilmi use cincalok.


When I tasted the kimchi paste, hmmm... it tasted very good.


There you go, four jars of kimchi and one tub of extras.


By this time I was feeling physically tired. And I had to face this.


Somewhere during the kimchi making (lunch), I had to deal with this.


Yup. I will write about it in another post. 


This was a piece that I had for dinner. After dinner there was a load of laundry to do. But I was so tired that I had to postpone to the next day (Chinese New Year Day, yikes!). So it was lights out for an early night.

Well. today is Chinese New Year day and I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous Year of the Dragon!

  5. Went back to Ipoh on CNY Eve for the first time (after a long hiatus of not returning due to the pandemc and my MIL being immobile) and returned yesterday. Well, looks like you're actually getting quite a bit of vegetables into your otherwise all-meat diet with kimchi. That's good.
