Office Tapau Tapau

These days we are discouraged from eating with our colleagues to avoid spreading of infections. Which suits loners like me just fine. I am not anti-social, just following SOP hah...hah..hah...

Well, there is only so much of food prep that I can take. So I ventured out to pick up my food. I used the Grabfood self-pick up option.

This tapau is from Taiwan Braised Pork Rice & Dessert

Alamak. I needed a bowl for the braised pork.

Luckily office got bowl.

Because I was very hungry (actually more of greedy), I ordered extras. As you can see there are two eggs instead of one hee..hee..

I love the salted vegetables and I simply dumped the chili onto my rice. There was a lot of rice (this is their regular portion, no tambah nasi).

But I guess when you eat this sort of thing, you need loads of rice and indeed I was very satisfied. Very!

Then today, being Saturday and all, I did a tapau at Pho Vietz, The Starling. I miss the food.

I ordered my favorite Stir Fried Beef & Celery Set.

Me being me, I had to have an extra side of Vietnamese Prawn Salad.

I love this salad but like before I find the dressing too sweet.

This is the big ass keropok that accompanied the salad.

Yes, there were prawns in the salad, all sliced in half. It was not as fresh (from the texture) as it should be but under the circumstances, I will cut them some slack. I am sure they have quite a bit of stock in the freezer since things are moving slowly these days.

I have a thing for this type of bento food packaging.

Nyum...I enjoyed the stir fried beef. Of course lah, it would have been so much better dining in served in nice crockery and presented on a tray.

The soup was all right, sweetish and tangy, somewhat better tasting than what I remembered.

Anyway, I enjoyed my meal, buang gian heh..heh...

  2. I love to eat braised eggs so I will order two eggs too. I also like the pickup options in Grab Food too. Good that you go pickup your food because it can let you breathe in fresh air and let you exercise by walking to the eatery from the shops.

  5. The Covid is airborne. It's safer to eat alone always. I think the PM will announce limited dine-in soon when numbers are rising. Confused la.

I am so anxious to visit Starling since you mentioned which outlets are still operating. I miss Pho Vietz too!

    1. KL and Selangor still in Phase 1, so no dine-in yet for us. It will take a long, long time for us to shoft to Phase 2 judging by the very high numbers here.

Pho Vietz, Mr Tuk Tuk, Rakuzen and those kiosks at the basement are operating. I don't know about the Foodcourt upstairs because I did not go up there.

  6. Is that mui choy (the sweet type) or ham choy (the salty one) you had? Looks a bit like mui choy though but either one, I'd still wallop! ;) But like mui choy a bit more than ham choy...kekeke! Of course stewed eggs and pork belly (minus the fatty parts) I also like. These two dishes, great eaten with rice...tambah nasi please! :D

    1. Now that you asked, I am wondering too hah..hah.. I am not sure lah, it is salty and sweet and I won't mind a bit more of it. Although I "complained" that they gave too much rice, I was glad they did. LOL!

  9. Wah! The first picture had me drooling already. I miss eating braised pork and egg. We haven't eaten beef since the lockdown. Our favourite beef noodle exceed 10km from my place. Couldn't buy raw beef because I am avoided going to the main market which is usually very crowded. Looks like I have to "tahan gian" until the situation improves or the cases come down.

    1. I am missing the Vietnamese beef noodles so maybe I can try tapau it. But soup is a bit troublesome to eat in the office. I hope that you can satisfy your craving for beef soon :)
