During the recent 9.9 sale on Lazada, I went crazy and bought these.
heh..heh... as if I don't have enough containers. I bought four stainless steels containers, four glass containers and one stainless steel insulated mug. I was very pleased with my purchase and that spurred me on with my food prep plans.
As you can see, I also included processed food (sausages) into my repertoire. I made mini meatloaves, roasted capsicum, roasted cherry tomatoes, fried eggs, stir fried baby French beans and sumo soup.
Last weekend I roasted some chicken, cooked some rice, veggies, boiled eggs, sauteed some mushrooms and sliced up some tomatoes and cucumbers.
This batch is meant for four days lunch and dinner.
These are the eggs, broccoli and mushrooms that I will add to the rice later. There is another side dish which I forgot to snap, Korean style brinjals.
Meanwhile in another part of Damansara, this was happening:
So there. Here's to more food prepping for wholesome home cooked meals.
Wow. Busy time in the kitchen preparing the food. Everything looked good, even the salad make me salivating.
ReplyDeleteQuite time consuming but worth it.
DeleteYour brother's paceri terung sure puts all your cooking to shame. Muahahahahahaha!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, right. LOL!
DeleteI am thinking of getting those containers too... have to wait till 10.10.. mine are mostly plastic, glass ones are good especially in the freezer. I can see your healthy and balanced meals there.. really take time too to get all these done. BTW, I am using the wok similar to your brother's... bought in La Gourmet during the anniversary sale, Shogun... no regrets, very nice to use and clean too!
ReplyDeleteThis Lazada really make me spend money hah..hah... That wok is very worth buying. I was thinking about it but I have so many things in the kitchen already!
DeleteYay to more food prepping! I see congratulations are in order on your new purchases....hee...hee..hee. All your food prep looks delicious...I can see myself eating all of them. Alas, I can only see...not experience. :'( I'm also imagining the joy of freedom I would have this week without having to cook. Can just reheat a tub or two, sit down in front of the telly and just relax. Ahhh, syiok-nya! P/S: That thing your brother cooked looks like one you need to eat a lot of rice with....are you sure you want to cook Malay dishes again? Kekeke...lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thank you! It also saves me from having to go out for lunch/dinner. My pet peeve about eating out is that I have to make sure I don't go during peak hours to ensure I get a seat. Oh ya, Malay dishes need to eat with (more/lots of) rice heh..heh...
DeleteThey all look good!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how you store them PH? Do share some tips with us. Especially on how to ensure that the food are in good condition and still fresh and delicious to eat.
Thank you! Sure thing, I will do a more detailed post soon :)
Deletewah….suddenly so gung ho about food prep! kudos! 4 days' lunch & dinner meals are not easy to prepare! u must have fully utilised your kitchen capacity (gas, utensils, veggies/meats/poultry/rice) just for that. So, Friday is a cheat day?
ReplyDeleteHave to lah, eating out is expensive and food choices are not so healthy. Yes, Friday relax and eat out. LOL!
DeleteMust tabik you for preparing so much tasty and pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I enjoyed my meals :)
Deletewah rajinnya buat prep food untuk 4 hari terus.. Like this easy later right, just heat up before eating? but must be time consuming also preparing all this right?
ReplyDeleteHow the ten grain rice tastes like? Tak pernah cuba lagi...
The ten grain rice taste pretty much like normal rice, just that the color is purple hah..hah...
DeleteOh My Mama! You bought so many containers like a crazee possessed aunty! Muahahahahaha! I think they look nice and neat with the price bargains. So long as you are happy, the money is well spent la. I believe you have tidied the space in your fridge to the maximum to store all that yums.
ReplyDeleteHello TM! Aunties like me are obsessed with containers! As long as I put these containers to good use, then it is worth the money spent. You are so clever, yes, I tidied up my fridge and had to throw out expired stuff to create more space.
Deletehehe, being someone who owns no food containers, i have to ask - what happens to the old containers after the new ones arrive? :D your meal prep is so pretty - and sufficient to feed a football team, it seems! :D
ReplyDeleteOh! The old ones are still in use. I repurpose them for storing vegetables like tomatoes and other ingredients that need to be kept in the fridge. A football teams indeed - the food lasted me for a whole week. Yay!
DeleteI really salute you in your food prep. I am staying away from Lazada and other similar stores. I know that if I get started, I will be very tempted. All the food look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteOnline shopping is no good for the pocket. LOL!
DeleteI don't know hard boiled egg cab be kept more than one day, LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL! As a matter of fact, it can stay good for 5 days in the fridge.
DeleteAre those meat patties in the right hand side container in the last pic? Your food prep meals look so well balanced, with protein and vegetables. Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteYes, those are meat patties. So clever! hee..hee...
