This BBQ spice rub is excellent for chicken or any meat. In fact I have also used it to season fried arrowhead chips and it made the chips so tasty.
There are only 6 ingredients in the mix - brown sugar, cayenne pepper, sea salt, garlic powder, cumin powder and smoked paprika. You can play with the ratios or add on other spices (like black pepper) to find your best flavors.

I rub anything and everything on my meat and put in the oven to roast. LOL!!! So far so good, it all tastes great. ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with spices and roasted meat :)
DeleteI only have those standard at home, as hardly cook, if buy too many, will end up all expire...
ReplyDeleteYah, better not but then...
Deletemccormick! i remember about 20 years ago, when i was first trying to learn about herbs and spices to understand what each one tasted and smelled like, i'd buy these little bottles to flavour homemade salads and cold cuts :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a good brand and I use it often. It's best to store the spices in the fridge or else they cake up and harden.
DeleteThanks for showing us the exact brand of ingredients that you use so that we can copycat you exactly. :D Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great weekend too!
DeleteI use this brand too...and as much as I'd like to buy many of these spices, I don't cook often (or cook often enough with recipes using such spices), so they end up expiring before they're even 1/4 used. I ended up throwing a lot away but now I think twice before buying since they're getting so expensive :(
ReplyDeleteI used to throw a lot away too :( Now I make sure to buy only the ones I use often. And I keep them in the fridge as they tend to harden over time at room temperature.
DeleteThanks for sharing. I love McCommick spices and herbs. So convenience. Will try it on pork belly. ^^
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful on pork belly :)
DeleteKalau yg rub camni..buat BBQ tepi kolam mmg best ni PH..
ReplyDeleteKan? BBQ tepi kolam atau kat pantai yang best tu.
DeleteThese spices are not cheap
ReplyDeleteI know hah..hah...
DeleteI must go through your recipe catalogue. There are pearls there. Since I am here, might as well do it.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you like what you find.
DeleteI used to buy these herbs but then seldom cook so ended up expired. But now very tempted to buy again to try these BBQ rub. Then I have to cook more often.
ReplyDeleteKeep them in the fridge to extend the shelf life :)
DeleteYeah, me too... maybe share the portion with Nancy so that they don't go wasted. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea hah..hah...
