A Bagel And A Dry Cake

A couple of weeks ago I was at Antipodean, The Atria.

I was thinking what to eat?

The specials did not tickle my fancy.

So I sat down and scanned the QR code for the menu.

Ice Cappuccino. Very nice! This is what I looked forward to.

I decided on the Bagel with Fried Egg and Bacon and a side order of Kumara Wedges.

You can't go wrong with bacon and egg so the bagel sandwich was delicious.

The Kumara Wedges (sweet potatoes) were just all right. They were served with some mashed avocado.

Generally speaking, I love sweet potatoes. This one was lacking in seasoning (needed more salt) and it could have been crispy on the outside.

The Blueberry Loaf was a disappointment.

It was dry. This order was driven by nostalgia because I was thinking of my Blueberry Lemon Zucchini Cake and Blueberry Orange Zucchini Bread.

But I did not complain because I don't like to make a fuss.

At least the coffee made my day. It always does.

Overall, I still enjoyed my relaxing lunch.

  2. Eh, was surprised to see you order bacon. I thought you don't like their bacon coz they're lean as they use back bacon. Hey, today your teddy looks a little skinnier...lol! Maybe before you partake in their cakes, you can ask if they're housemade...as I know some cafes don't make their own cakes unlike bakeries.

    1. Yah, buy in a sandwich OK lah. The other day I had their avocado toast with steraky bacon which they cooked until crispy. I think the poor teddy melted a little bit before it was served LOL! Sure, will ask about the cakes. Most are good especially their carrot cake.

    1. Sometimes I wonder if I should bring my insulated mug and tapau the teddy bear because it usually does not melt all the way after I finish my drink. LOL!

  4. Did you finish eating the dry cake? That wise man is very creative to say these wise words about ship and people on the ship. ๐Ÿ’ชI wonder whether my teeth are strong enough to eat the bagel or not ๐Ÿค”

    1. I ate about 3/4 and gave up. The bagel was not very hard, but crusty. Do have a good week ahead yourself!
