When I read Choi Yen's post on her dining experience at The Farmer, Kepong, I could not wait to visit Luck Farm, Damansara Utama.
The dishes that Choi Yen's party ordered looked similar (and delicious) like the photos on Luck Farm's menu.
As she pointed out to me in her comments, these two restaurants are the same (judging from the menu and "Farmer" and "Farm" in the name).
I was an eager beaver, arriving early (to avoid the lunch crowd) and found myself having the whole place to myself.
I was given a thick menu (the menu is very extensive) and since I have already studied the menu here, I could quickly place my order.

I eagerly dug in and found the aroma of cumin very strong and prominent. I am familiar with this spice as it is used in Indian/Malay and Mexican cooking.
After a while the flavors grew on me and I enjoyed this lamb dish very much. The lamb was well marinated, so there is no gamey lamb smell. But you can tell it is lamb.
There were red and green local chilies (these were not spicy hot luckily), sliced onions, lots of cumin seeds and even crinkle fries in this dish together with the marinated lamb.
I don't know why crinkle fries are part of this dish but it kind of works.
I also had a bowl of rice. The portion of rice is small (which is perfect for me) and it looked/tasted like Basmati rice (which I like).
I was very pleased with my meal and I'm glad I gave this restaurant a try (well thanks to Choi Yen's post hah..hah..) in spite of my misgivings about mainland China cuisine (based on previous experience at other eateries)
When I went to make payment, I was given an opportunity to spin a container filled with gold colored balls (with numbers printed on them). You can see the container on the left side of the cashier counter.
The ball that came out had the number 6 which entitles me to redeem 6 skewers on my next visit (minimum spend RM50.00). Redemptions can be made at lunch and dinner on weekdays but only at lunch weekends and public holidays.
I'll have to haul my partner here for dinner one day and we can redeem the skewers.
Happy good Friday holiday! You are fast! Just a few earlier post, you were writing about this luck farm restaurant. Lucky that the food turns out satisfying for you. You made the right choices of food here. Can see that this visit was a happy experience for you from the food, decor and ambience. They even have lucky spin for customers. I love lamb in the form of curry mutton or kambing soup. But has not eaten for a while now as weather is scorching hot recently and I try to avoid heaty food.
