Christmas At The Starling

Christmas is coming in some three weeks time and decorations are up at The Starling.

This year's theme is locomotives. Or rather, one locomotive.

This is the choo choo train.

The Starling Express.

The decorations I would say is understated. I prefer last year's.

As usual there is the bazaar.

Where you can buy pretty trinkets.

And clothes and apparels.

And even pretty decorative plants.

Victoria Station is back with their lasagna.

They have been here many times during festive seasons.

I was tempted in the past but due to my way of eating (avoiding carbs) I guess lasagna is not in the cards anytime soon.

Once Christmas is over, you bet the 2025 Chinese New Year props will take over since the CNY falls on 29-01-2025.

Lunch on the day of my walkabout.

Roast duck. Tender and succulent!

The Kopi C was of their usual standards. Hallelujah!

Woohoo!

  1. Good morning! I agree with you. Christmas decorations are understated. Where has all the money gone to? Went Intercontinental hotel at Bugis Junction to look see their Christmas decorations. At least the hotel's decorations are better than the shopping malls which we observed. To bring a good cheer and just sharing, my health check up results are pretty good. My blood glucose level was within desirable level which means I do not have diabetes. LDL level was a little high but total cholesterol level was balanced by good cholesterol level HDL as HDL level was high too. Kidney function is good. Went to collect my health check up results last Friday. Thankful that everything went on smoothly.

    1. I am glad that your blood test result is excellent! You must be doing the right thing in terms of your lifestyle. I think the mall is keeping the budget small for Christmas and maybe they will splash for CNY. We'll see!

    2. Oh yes! Forgot to mention, my calcium with vitamin D is good too so I should continue taking eggs and get more sunshine. Cheers. Here's to peace, happiness and good health.

    1. Ah! You can always cross over to JB. Last time when my father was working in JB, we used to go to Singapore for jalan-jalan. At that time, the exchange rate was more or less equal. But now, it is too expensive for us to holiday in Singapore.

  4. Wonder how they would cleverly recycle the Christmas decorations into CNY decorations. Stay tuned!

  6. Wow! 👏 👏 👏 You walked a lot! 💪
Thanks for showing us starling Xmas decor.
Your duck looks good. Half or one? Looks like a lot.
Their duck is really juicy, I remember eating it with juice running down my chin 😁

    1. That was half a duck. It was very good that day but I didn't have juice running down my chin LOL!

  7. My walking steps during working days are very minimal at roughly 1500 steps/day. >_<

    1. We usually sit down a lot during working days. My average is usually around 6,000-7,000 due to walking to DJ and only if I do walking exercise before coming to work, then it will go up 9,000-10,000 steps.
