We try to order different dishes so that we can taste different items on the menu. But we still maintain our favorites and it seems like our default order is the honey pepper mushroom.
We are not tired of this dish yet.
Then we got this dong po pork belly with all the fatty wobbly goodness. Mum said the pork belly was not fatty enough heh..heh... I think these days the pig breeders intentionally make the pigs skinnier. Most people want leaner meat but not us.
The braised pork belly was served with mantou. These are the frozen ones that we can buy from the supermarket. It so happened that their delivery man was spotted delivering the frozen mantou before our order was served.
Fish is my brother's area and he ordered this ginger paste steamed fish. The fish here is very fresh.
The brinjal with minced pork and basil was not as good as I had anticipated. The ones from the chap fan shop is better.
I was so full from the lunch that I did not eat dinner that evening.
When I got home, Girl came inside and had her siesta on my sofa.
I was actually feeling a tad sleepy myself but I don't usually take afternoon naps.
Last Sunday evening she moved to the other sofa because I was lepak-ing on the 3-seater. She wasn't in the mood to hangout on my lap.
Earlier in the morning she rested on daddy's car.
Kittie Kat was very kepoh and inspected my pot of chives.
Food looks good. Now you've got me craving for that dong po pork!

DeleteWah, your mom really knows how to appreciate fatty fatty pork belly. Girl looks so happy sleeping on the sofas and car. Oh kittie Kat is a big girl now. Mommy will need to shoo off the boys who will court her soon.

DeleteI think I can understand why your mom thinks the pork belly isn't fatty enough...my mom would be the same. Somehow the old folks tend to like to eat fatty pork (just like an uncle who specifically requested for braised pork belly in one the lunches I posted)...lol. P/S: Girl's sleeping poses are the cutest! ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, your mum is a fatty pork fan too! My mum told me that even when she was a little girl, she would go for all the fatty parts unlike he siblings who shy away from it. More share for her! LOL! I must have inherited my liking for pork fat from her hee..hee.. Girl's sleeping poses are always amusing even after all these years.
