Seoul Classic, Damansara Uptown

Sorry ya... I realized that I have been missing since last Tuesday. It's the peak period at the office, hence my lack of post.

Besides, these days I am super lazy. I cook the same old thing and I order the same old food. Nothing new to report.

But today, I decided to go visit Seoul Classic for some hearty Korean fare.

Seoul Classic is fairly new and it is situated along the same row as HSBC Bank. This space was previously occupied by Mikado Japanese Restaurant and Chihiro Kushiyaki Izakaya

It was a long (well, not very long) trek up the stairs to get to the restaurant.

These were the nice decorations at the entrance once you get to the top.

It is quite spacious and I immediately liked the ambiance.

What endeared me more to the space were the potted plants. So pretty!

There was one table occupied when I arrived and I went to get myself a seat.

It took a little while for the wait staff to attend to me.

I was given two menus, one for the set lunch and the other for their BBQ and family set meals. I was also served a canister of chilled water. Nice.

I chose the Jeyuk Bokkeum which is stir fried pork belly slices in spicy sauce.

On every table there are side plates and cups.

There you go, the banchan (side dishes). The Indon server was like "satu orang ...." as she placed the plates on my table.

Ah yes, I am the "satu orang" who can eat "dua orang" portions.

Utensils are placed inside a neat drawer at the side of the table.

This was my grand meal. Not bad at all.

This is always my favorite banchan the ikan bilis and peanuts. Although they were not crispy, I still enjoyed this side dish.

I have nothing to complain about this Jeyuk Bokkeum, it is as good as should be. It had a good sweet, salty and spicy vibe that was very appetizing.

That was a very satisfying lunch!

I'll be back, that's for sure.

  1. Ikan bilis and peanuts sounds like the usual Malaysian nasi lemak condiments, not one of those in the Korean banchan selection.
RM18.90 for all that!!! Gee! That is so so so cheap!!!
I haven't had Korean for so long but I'm off red meat and I'm not into anything kim chi so I guess that does not leave me much to enjoy.

  2. OMG! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ You betul funny satu orang boleh makan dua orang. What a whale appetite you have! Good lah. Enjoy while you can.

I really miss Korean food sooooo much esp the Kimchi Jigae. I think I will eat Korean dinner tonight and attack the banchan since it's safe food for me. I am attracted to this Jeyuk Bokkeum which is new to me. That restaurant 's ambiance is spacious and I prefer chairs than sitting on the floor which is popular in Korea.

  3. Yes, that banchan is more like for "dua orang". With 10 banchan which you sapu clean (very hebat), at least you don't need to order side dishes...lol. I recently had a Korean BBQ meal too and the 10 banchan given, the two of us didn't need refills coz we struggled to finish what was given.

    1. When the banchan was served I was quite terkejut that there were 10 hah..hah... But frankly there is not that much in each plate, so it was an easy sweep for me. LOL!

  4. This place definitely not those typical Korean restaurants setting, it's tastefully decorated and I like the ambience and the great lighting for photography. However, I notice that there's no exhaust pipe and I afraid that the ventilation will be quite terrible when grilling meats. >_<

    1. Ya hor? I did not notice. Alamak, that would mean the whole place will be so smoky if anyone ordered the BBQ LOL!
