Confession

It's time to fess up for something I did which I shouldn't do. I ditched what I packed from home for this.

I know. I should not use that styrofoam box. I usually bring my own container but there was no intention to tapau. So.

I couldn't face my lunch from home.

Those pale balls among greens. How could that be appetizing? Even the chimichurri couldn't save the day.

So I had this.

Stir fried mixed vegetables, kai lan and my favorite lemon chicken.

It felt good eating something different (and tasty) after so long. Yeah, I know, I said I was ditching chap fan but I kinda miss it at that moment.

A little deviation (not too often) is alright I guess.

I better make something more exciting than pale meatballs for my lunch.

  2. I am stuck in a rut with my lunches---your pale meatballs look like a good change of pace for me, but I'd probably pick that tasty lemon chicken over it, too :)

    1. It's challenge to make something quick and good over the weekend. I've stuck with it for a few weeks but am experiencing taste fatigue!

  3. When the veggies or dish looked tasteless and bland, my American friend taught me to pour over oyster or barbeque sauce! Bingo! All becomes yummy.

  4. What is life if we eat to live everyday? Once ina while must live to eat! So I understand why you couldn't stomach the food you brought from home and went for the chapfan. Variety is the spice of life. Gotta stop living like a zombie everyday and have a change of routine once in a while.

  5. Yeah, we can't truly walk away from our chap fan. When I get sick of my own cooking, I need to go get some 'complicated' dishes (that I will never make at home) from the chap fan stalls too....kekeke! :D Some stalls have started to use the recyclable boxes already :)

    1. Am I glad I am not alone! There's a new chap fan shop that uses paper boxes and their food is not too bad.

  9. I, too have done that before. Here's my big sin; in the last two days I have consumed two large packets of Minstrals (chocolate in crisp shells) because I have a lot on my plate.

  16. Eh but, can't you just chuck those pale balls into the oven again or better still, into the pan to turn them into more appetizing looking balls?
