Update : Epicuro@Damansara Uptown has closed down.
I came back from a meeting at almost 1:00pm. I hate meetings. Except the ones with my brother. All other meetings, I dread. Dread. Dread. Dread.
I came back from a meeting at almost 1:00pm. I hate meetings. Except the ones with my brother. All other meetings, I dread. Dread. Dread. Dread.
Usually the evening before a meeting I would be filled with a sense of foreboding. You could say that I have a phobia for meetings. Will the directors throw chairs? Will the shareholders scream at each other? Will there be a fight? Will I get hurt?
No. Nothing exciting like that happened. Bah! Anyway, I was starving when I stepped out of the cab. I went up to Ampersand but they were full. So I came down the stairs and walked to the back. To where else? Epicuro.
Great! Still lots of seats. So I settled down and ordered an Americano and Pork Chops. I made a request for the hash browns to be exchanged with coleslaw. Why? Because madam has to avoid carbs.
Now, isn't that a beauty?
Three thick slices of pork chops with mushroom cream sauce. Tasty but in the past, they used to have bacon in the sauce but not this time.
Coleslaw. Nothing special about it. I make better ones at home.
Salad. This seem to be their standard side salad. Dressed with balsamic dressing. A tad too sour for me.
I am happy to report that I was stuffed after polishing everything off my plate. In the past, I would have ordered a salad to supplement my mains.
Well, well, I think I have succeeded in making my stomach smaller by eating smaller portions.
It was back to work after the lovely lunch. I hope there will not be anymore meetings until end of the year. Hah!
I also used to dread those long meetings. Sleepy and long-winded.
ReplyDeleteThat was a lovely thick slab of pork chop. Mushroom cream sauce? I would prefer either brown sauce or black pepper with pork chop.
Come to think of it, I also prefer black pepper sauce.
DeleteThree thick pork chops! I don't think I ever had a thick pork chop when I ate out in London. One only get one chop.
ReplyDeleteAre you the only female attendee at these high level meetings?
At this particular meeting, I'm the only female >.<
DeleteGood to hear that your tummy is shrinking now. Soon you will show off your 6 packs like Jordan Chan! ha ha
ReplyDeleteI hate meetings too as they are so long winded but the worst is that smoking is allowed!! Hear that?? My 2 bosses and 2 managers could smoke non stop inside the meeting room because they are like Chinese mafias!
Luckily for me, there was no smoking in that meeting.
Delete6 packs? Oh, I'm still working on that and my biceps too hah...hah....
Me too, I hate meetings with a vengeance. If there is one thing that will make me finally throw in the towel and quit my job, I swear having to deal with meetings would be one of the main tipping points. >.<
ReplyDeleteAnd there's no decent pork chops nearby to make me feel better in the aftermath. Our cafeteria's food sucks. >.<
High 5! One of the things I always pray for is for a meeting to be cancelled hah..hah... It did happen once or twice.
DeleteIt must be tough having to eat cafeteria food almost everyday. I've had a lot of those during my university days.
No meeting with your brother also never mind...you still get to go to one of your two happy places! ;) By the way, the mushroom sauce looks very whitish...like (I won't say it)....haha! :D
ReplyDeleteLike vomit? hah..hah... They used to put bacon in the sauce and it was very tasty back then. But that day, no bacon and the sauce was not that great :(
DeleteWould they replace the hash brown with more salad? I think salad is better than coleslaw since coleslaw dressing has sugar. Yay! To your smaller stomach, waiting for you to join the club.
ReplyDeleteI think they would if I asked. But I did not like the salad, too sour >.<
DeleteI like sour.
DeleteThen this salad very ngam for you :)
DeleteYou must be the VIP accountant at the AGM.
ReplyDeleteNot really hah..hah..
DeleteThat's a nice treat after a boring meeting.
ReplyDeleteYup, very good treat and sort of compensates for the stress :)
DeleteHi Phong Hong, quite surprise you hate meetings. I take it as good opportunity to speak my mind better 'face to face', hehehe! Of course, before that needs to prepare well.
ReplyDeleteAlamak Kimmy, you like meetings hah..hah... But that meeting was not my issues, the client's issues so...
DeleteOne good thing for retirees, no more meetings! Ha ha! I like your lunch and I am feeling hungry looking at the pork chops with mushroom cream sauce. Congratulations to your smaller tummy! I am still working hard at it. Heheheh!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to be a retiree hah...hah... Yes, I am celebrating my smaller tummy :D
DeleteI love meetings! Especially the ones out of town - KL, Penang, Langkawi, Pangkor, Melaka, Port Dickson, Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Kuching - they sure took me to a lot of places and the 6 meals a day - breakfast, tea, lunch, tea, dinner, supper. I always put on weight without fail going for those meetings and the best thing was everything was free!!!
ReplyDeleteOh those meetings are so different from mine. More like a getaway with lots of food to eat!
DeleteYou better than me, you can control avoid crabs, me don't think i can do it yet at the moment...
ReplyDeleteI am sure you can if you tried....
DeleteI dont like going to meetings too!! Why? Cos I dont understand much bahasa and halfway through, I git "lost"... Worse when I need to write minutes! Phew... No more of that now.. Only blogging.. Heheee
ReplyDeleteOh yah, the minutes is one of the worst parts hah..hah...
DeleteI like meetings😀But only when I decide how long they are going to last
ReplyDeleteOh well, lucky you :D
