I Hate Meetings. Bah!

Update : Epicuro@Damansara Uptown has closed down.

I came back from a meeting at almost 1:00pm. I hate meetings. Except the ones with my brother. All other meetings, I dread. Dread. Dread. Dread.

Usually the evening before a meeting I would be filled with a sense of foreboding. You could say that I have a phobia for meetings. Will the directors throw chairs? Will the shareholders scream at each other? Will there be a fight? Will I get hurt?

No. Nothing exciting like that happened. Bah! Anyway,  I was starving when I stepped out of the cab. I went up to Ampersand but they were full. So I came down the stairs and walked to the back. To where else? Epicuro.

Great! Still lots of seats. So I settled down and ordered an Americano and Pork Chops. I made a request for the hash browns to be exchanged with coleslaw. Why? Because madam has to avoid carbs.

Now, isn't that a beauty?

Three thick slices of pork chops with mushroom cream sauce. Tasty but in the past, they used to have bacon in the sauce but not this time.

Coleslaw. Nothing special about it. I make better ones at home.

Salad. This seem to be their standard side salad. Dressed with balsamic dressing. A tad too sour for me.

I am happy to report that I was stuffed after polishing everything off my plate. In the past, I would have ordered a salad to supplement my mains.

Well, well, I think I have succeeded in making my stomach smaller by eating smaller portions.

It was back to work after the lovely lunch. I hope there will not be anymore meetings until end of the year. Hah!

  1. I also used to dread those long meetings. Sleepy and long-winded.

That was a lovely thick slab of pork chop. Mushroom cream sauce? I would prefer either brown sauce or black pepper with pork chop.

  2. Three thick pork chops! I don't think I ever had a thick pork chop when I ate out in London. One only get one chop.

Are you the only female attendee at these high level meetings?

  3. Good to hear that your tummy is shrinking now. Soon you will show off your 6 packs like Jordan Chan! ha ha

I hate meetings too as they are so long winded but the worst is that smoking is allowed!! Hear that?? My 2 bosses and 2 managers could smoke non stop inside the meeting room because they are like Chinese mafias!

    1. Luckily for me, there was no smoking in that meeting.

  4. Me too, I hate meetings with a vengeance. If there is one thing that will make me finally throw in the towel and quit my job, I swear having to deal with meetings would be one of the main tipping points. >.<

And there's no decent pork chops nearby to make me feel better in the aftermath. Our cafeteria's food sucks. >.<

    1. High 5! One of the things I always pray for is for a meeting to be cancelled hah..hah... It did happen once or twice.

It must be tough having to eat cafeteria food almost everyday. I've had a lot of those during my university days.

    1. Like vomit? hah..hah... They used to put bacon in the sauce and it was very tasty back then. But that day, no bacon and the sauce was not that great :(

  6. Would they replace the hash brown with more salad? I think salad is better than coleslaw since coleslaw dressing has sugar. Yay! To your smaller stomach, waiting for you to join the club.

  9. Hi Phong Hong, quite surprise you hate meetings. I take it as good opportunity to speak my mind better 'face to face', hehehe! Of course, before that needs to prepare well.

  11. I love meetings! Especially the ones out of town - KL, Penang, Langkawi, Pangkor, Melaka, Port Dickson, Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Kuching - they sure took me to a lot of places and the 6 meals a day - breakfast, tea, lunch, tea, dinner, supper. I always put on weight without fail going for those meetings and the best thing was everything was free!!!
