As I was contemplating the menu, the lady at the front was promoting something. She spoke in Cantonese to the customer.
I am quite hopeless. I have lived in PJ for more than 20 years and yet I have not picked up the dialect. But I am not totally hopeless.
I know tapau (takeaway/takeout), sek fan (eat rice), kar fan (add rice, very important hah..hah...) and cho san (good morning).
Then I heard her say "mou yau, mou thong" I knew it meant "no oil, no sugar". Eh, not bad, my vocab is expanding wahahaha! That must be a pastry or whatever that does not contain oil or sugar. Where got such thing? Anyway.
Salad, sliced guava, quarter tomato, sauteed mushrooms, chicken sausages, chicken luncheon meat, a dollop of whipped butter, toast and scrambled eggs.
As for luncheon meat, chicken just does not cut it. So this is not the Big Breakfast for me. But I am glad I tried it.
At The Starling, I noted that Bask Bear Coffee has folded up to be replaced by Hatyai Fried Chicken.
At the concourse, Home's Harmony was having a sales promotion.
Glass containers. I used to be (and maybe still am) obsessed with clip lock glass containers.
I won't be buying anymore since I have so many already which are still serving me well. I think the promo is still on but you have to go to the shop. It is on the first floor.

Hi dear friend, just wanted to say that your post showed up in the Blogger news reader on time!!! (mine, however, didn't, but I am getting used to this.) LOL! Just wanted to let you know.
ReplyDeleteYes, I noticed Blogger is inconsistent. There were times when yours showed up on time. We'll all have to get used to it LOL!
DeleteThe little animals are so cute. Of course I especially love the cats! :) But then again, you knew this, didn't you, PH? :)
ReplyDeleteThe quote at the end of your post is right! I like pork sausages! Since I am not very fond of beef because I have had several attacks of gout in the past...and because beef is more difficult for me to eat and digest, I do like the pork sausages. Chicken...never tried it in sausages, but I have in hot dogs (Halal). They are pretty good.
Your dishes and photos are beautiful, dear friend! As always!
Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you have a lovely week ahead!
Oh ya, we love cats! LOL! I hope that you have a lovely weekend ahead too!
DeleteHi PH, well, my post just appeared now in the Blogger news reader....an hour later! LOL! I am just glad it isn't several hours later as has happened before, on more than one occasion!
ReplyDeleteWell, now I know to go check first thing instead of waiting for it to appear in my sidebar. Can't trust Blogger. LOL!
DeleteGood morning π
ReplyDeleteYou didn't find out, what is the miracle dish that they are selling which is mou yau, mou thong ? π
hah..hah... On another visit, I discovered that it was their sweet potato raisin bun.
DeleteI don't think I will try their big breakfast as my spouse prefers pork Bacon π₯ in big breakfasts. Thanks for your review.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week ahead πΉ
Ya, no need to try. Not so good due to the use of chicken. You have a good week ahead too!
DeleteHi PH good morning thanks again for sharing your meal it was a full flege one. And the walk after, It was an awesome π one as I don't go travel nowadays
ReplyDeleteGood morning, my dear! I am happy to see your comment. I have been thinking of you and I hope that all is well with you.
DeleteIf there's a pastry that's indeed no oil (I believe that includes no butter), no sugar...it wouldn't be any nice. Your BB looks nice until you said "chicken". Ya, we're very biased, me too prefer pork or beef sausages, especially luncheon meat, it has to be pork, nothing else...lol! Well, now that you no longer prep food, you won't be needing anymore glasslock containers...hah..hah.
ReplyDeleteActually, that kind of atmosphere is also not for me...but, if there's a rumour of good food there, I must try it at least once. Ya, I probably won't be dining there again but maybe tapau ytf if I'm in the area. As for the lady taking selfies, well, she had full make-up on and was dressed elegantly in high heel shoes some more, so she probably thought she'd be looking pretty in the photos...lol! These are the type of people who wants their photos to look great on instagram no matter what and doesn't bother that they look/dressed so out of place (or when people stare) when they're eating in such places, I guess.
hah..hah... my thoughts exactly, that pastry might taste like cardboard! I found out later it was their sweet potato raisin bun. So the sweetness will come from the sweet potatoes and raisins. Some of my glasslock containers are used to store my girls cooked chicken. LOL!
DeleteMaybe should say less oil, less sugar rather than no oil no sugar which is impossible & hard to believeπ I think pj & kl nowadays most chinese speak mandarin more.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Ya, hard to believe no sugar no oil/butter. Oh really, I still hear most people speaking Cantonese.
