Dapur Dua Rasa, Damansara Uptown

Restaurants come and go at Damansara Uptown/Utama. It is a case of now you see it, now you don't.

Some eateries, like the recently shuttered The Rustic Grill, don't even last a year.

Dapur Dua Rasa now sits at the spot previously occupied by Lu Damansara. My last (and only) visit to Lu Damansara was in April 2025. Then in October 2025 it became Dapur Dua Rasa, which adopted the same yellow color scheme.

Inside, nothing much has changed except for the color and wall decorations. Even the furniture is the same.

It was very quiet (a public holiday) with one table occupied by a gentleman with his two young children.

This is the menu. Simple and straight to the point.

You can order using the QR code or go the old fashioned way.

I ordered the Nasi Ayam Goreng Berempah and a drink.

There you go.

Teh Limau Kasturi Ais (kurang manis). The Calamnsi ice tea was refreshing.

The meal was as uninspiring as it looked. Rice, fried chicken leg, a fried egg, curry gravy, sambal and a slice each of tomato and cucumber.

The chicken though flavorful was hard and tough. From the appearance of the fried egg, I suspect that it was pre-fried.

At the back of the room I saw a drinks dispenser. Maybe the drinks are complimentary? I saw the gentleman filling cups for his kids.

I always wish eateries well and hope that they do well.

And with that, all the best and good luck, Dapur Dua Rasa!

As usual, I take a walk after eating.

This eatery is among the very popular ones at The Starling and you still see queues especially at weekends/public holidays or peak weekday lunch hour. They must be doing something right.

  1. Dear PH, I do love ❤️ the green ๐Ÿ’š colours of this place. It makes it look warm, inviting and relaxing.
I agree with you, dear friend. Your meal lacks in presentation and the chicken looks dry. And there was not much at all.
The iced tea looks good and refreshing.

  2. The interior is very nice though. Is this a Halal eatery? Maybe they target the muslim customers since the non muslim have lotsa choices around the vicinity.

  3. I think this nasi ayam is still better than ayam penyet or ayam gepuk. Got curry gravy, not too dry.
