Chili's Datenite

This datenite happened a while back - before Chinese New Year.

We got there way past 6:00 pm and I thought that Chili's would be crowded and we would have to wait for a table. But no, there was no crowd. Good!

We sat down and looked at the menu. There was a revamp and yet we stuck to the same old same old. LOL!

Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad (and not Sante Fe Chicken Salad as some of you might have thought).Yes, my partner always eats salad at Chili's.

I had the Classic Ribeye.

Medium rare as requested. The steak was good but needed more seasoning.

I loved the mashed potatoes. It was mashed not too fine, with small chunks of potatoes in there and it was seasoned just right. The broccoli was bland.

My partner commented that the salad was not as nice as before. We also noted that there were not that many customers. They used to be full house at peak dinner time.

On the way to the car park, my partner had to use the restroom. While waiting for him, I spotted this shop and I took note because I need to re-pierce my ears. I have not been wearing earrings, so my piercings closed up.

But no, I have not had my ears pierced yet because I am too chicken. LOL!

  1. Dear PH, I love the quote and image.
I love the red wall and rustic ambiance of this eatery. Ribeye. Yummy πŸ˜‹ And yes, medium rare.
Dear friend, I have never had my ears or anything else pierced nor have I ever had any tattoos.
    Chicken? Yes. LOL πŸ˜† πŸ˜‚ 🀣
But I just don't like them.
    Your mashed potatoes sound delicious.

    1. The ear piercing when I was a teenager was not my idea but my mum's! LOL! She loves wearing earrings and thought that I might benefit from getting my ears pierced so that I can wear them too. But I am not the dressy type (unlike my mum) and hence I lost my piercings. Don't know if I would ever have the courage to get them done again!

  2. I saw Chili's as your post title...and assumed that was Santa Fe Chicken Salad too...lol! I've never had syteaks at Chili's (for the reason they're not a steakhouse) but yours seem decent and portion size seems to ngam me too! When I read "we sat down and looked at the menu"...I had a giggle. I thought it was more like "we sat down and you looked at the menu" since your partner always have Santa Fe Chicken...hah..hah. P/S: I'd love to wear earings but my ears are not pierced coz I'm chicken too! :D

Yes, I've made your famous minced beef omelette even more famous...lol! I agree with you on the jalapenos and you agree with me on the red capsicum. Great minds think alike...and great cooks cook alike? Scrambled instead of omelette...wuahahahaha! I may be a dainty eater...but I'm not dainty in size T_T (I don't have great metabolism like you, that's why you can eat a lot and still stay slim...the perks of being a big-eater...hehe). Oh, you love raw onions, eh? I feel that when I eat raw onions, the taste goes through my nose instead of my mouth! ;D

    1. hah..hah..hah... The steak at Chili's is all right, not great, and as we have concluded - only order steak at a steakhouse! Well, my partner did look at the menu but he always gravitates towards the same thing LOL! I have tried to encourage him to order other meals but no, salad it is!

I don't think I would have the courage or motivation to get my ears pierced. When I first had it done (mum's idea, not mine) my earlobes got infected. It was very painful getting the earrings off for my earlobes to be cleaned and disinfected. Luckily it was not serious and healed. I don't think I want to go through that again!

Ah, yes, I am glad that you loved the minced beef version vs pork hee..hee... Actually I don't have a high metabolism. I can maintain my weight mainly due to physical activity - the (almost) daily walks I do to deliver lunch and also post-meal walks. And also due to intermittent fasting. If I didn't do all that and ate whatever I liked, I would have been much heavier than I am right now (like how I used to be). Ah, raw onions - especially with satay (to me) is da bomb! LOL!

  3. I don't have ear piercings and I don't intend to have them no idea why, just didn't occur to me to have ear piercings. πŸ˜‚
I have eaten at chili not that many times and I don't think I will go again. Thanks for the review.

    1. Well, it was my mum's idea that I got it done. On my own, I doubt if I had wanted my ears pierced. Strange, right? Most girls would have to beg their mum for permission. LOL!

The food at Chili's used to be good but not anymore based on the recent visit.
