Vegetarian Ying Yong @ Jujube Vegetarian House

I love Wat Tan Hor and I honestly cannot remember the last time I had one.

On my way to Jujube Vegetarian House, Damansara Jaya, I came upon this cute poodle.

It was a very well behaved doggie. It was not tethered to a harness and yet it sat obediently on the chair. I did not dare to pet the doggie because I did not want to startle it. Besides, I was not certain if it would bite me hah..hah...

So there I was, a meat lover at a vegetarian restaurant. Carnivore goes Vegetarian, that would have made a good headline. But no, I am more of an omnivore now, with a love for meat.

The restaurant has a neat and clean interior.

There is a physical menu on every table and ordering is by completing an order chit.

I was immediately attracted to the Wat Tan Hor.

It was either Signature Ying Yong or Signature Wat Dan Hor. Although I usually prefer just koay teow, I went with the Ying Yong.

I was very eager to dig in.

The koay teow had a wok hei aroma. It tasted very nice.

At the center of the plate were the crispy deep fried noodles which  subsequently softened in the egg gravy.

Overall, in terms of taste, don't expect it to taste like regular wat tan hor (which contains meat and prawns). This vegetarian version is pleasant and mild tasting and yet I enjoyed it.

I would definitely revisit to try other dishes.

Well, well, guess what? The Neighbor Hoot is now replaced with Ah Maas Taiwan Rice Roll.

Haiz! So many nice carbs to eat hah...hah...hah...

I went for my post-meal walk and saw this very nice bed at Hooga. I thought this bed is too high. What if you accidentally rolled off the bed?

My brother (the married one) fell off his bed two years ago and knocked his eye against the nightstand. Poor fella was a one-eyed Jack for a couple of weeks. Fortunately his eye healed.

The toy 🐕 is so obedient, sitting there.

  2. That bed is definitely too high. My maternal grandma also rolled off her normal height bed a few times and got one time she broke her hip after rolling off her bed.

  3. Ah Maas Taiwan Rice Roll sounds like it is worth a try. Let me search online for the menu. Thanks for highlighting it. 💕

  4. Finally, a carb that's noodles...lol! I prefer ying yong over wat tan hor just because I love eating the crispy meehoon...though many use the wrong meehoon for the dish. I hate those extra thin meehoon that disintegrates into the sauce thus losing its crispiness even before you can bite into it.

  5. I prefer yinyong too but the meehoon has to be correct texture soft yet crunchy at some parts. I hardly pet dogs coz i don't like to be barked at😅
