Big Breakfast

It was Friday and it is the one day of the week when I go to Antipodean for a good relaxing lunch.

This visit, I went to the counter first to check what cakes were available for the day hah..hah... Indeed, Friday is also dessert day!

Ice Cappuccino. My teddy bear had a sprig of mint on top of its head.

After Kris' recent visit to Antipodean @ Sunway Velocity where she had the Big Breakfast, I decided that I should have the same. On my first visit, I had the All Day Breakfast where I chose bacon and add-on pork sausage.

Their version of the Ice Cappuccino was not as powerful as the one I had at Red Kettle (which was really kapow! kapow!) but it was still good.

I must say that I was very pleased with the Big Breakfast. I chose pork sausage because it is smoky and delicious. I don't like their bacon because they use lean back bacon.

I loved everything on my plate especially the mushrooms and hashbrown. The hashbrown looked like a small pillow, brown and crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside (like mashed potatoes). There were lots of chopped parsley in the hashbrown, I loved that!

I wished there were one more hashbrown, after all there was a space that could be filled with another one. In fact you can add-on hashbrown.

But at that price, hmmm.... I'll save the cost for dessert hah...hah....

The mushrooms were also excellent, I could see bits of garlic and chopped parsley mixed with the mushrooms. So so good!

After I was done with the Big Breakfast, my Hummingbird Cake was served.

Oh! I loved this cake. The cake itself was mildly sweet but the frosting was on the sweet side but not overtly so.

That was a really good lunch and right after my meal I walked back to DU. It is just as well that I get a 30 minute walk back to the office to lower my glucose spike hee..hee..

  1. Dear friend, your big breakfast looks mouthwatering! Scrumptious! The cake looks delicious as well!
I find the presentations very pretty! So you don't like lean back bacon? Have you ever tried turkey bacon? I like it.
I hope you are having a wonderful week, PH! And I love the health illustration at the end of your post!

    1. Yes, I have tried turkey bacon and it is good. But I prefer streaky bacon better!

  2. What a scrumptious meal! Yummy πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
Ah, cold coffee is my favourite. I would choose cold coffee over hot coffee ☕ anytime.
Your long walk back to uptown will use up all your cake carbs so πŸ’ͺ

  4. I'm so glad that my recommended dish of Big Breakfast was very much to your liking. I'm doubly glad that we saw eye to eye on the mushrooms and hashbrown (which I thought deserved mention). Both BBs were cooked and presented similarly. The only difference I see on the one I had at Antipodean and the one you had at Atria is that your sausage is straight and mine is curved...lolol!

  5. Your big breakfast sounded really delish πŸ˜‹πŸ€€ except that I don't eat processed meat like bacon πŸ₯“, ham and sausage anymore. I will replace these protein/meat with other options if there are. All the rest I like such as the hash brown with chopped parsley, the mushrooms, the scrambled eggs, the breads, the salads and the cake. A very satisfying and filling lunch on a Friday. The teddy bear so cute lah, what mischief is the teddy bear 🐻 up to with its mint leave on top of the head.

    1. Yes, these processed meats should be taken not too frequently or avoided as far as possible. I love the ice teddy bear and it makes the presentation so cute!
