Atria Shopping Gallery

After lunch at Antipodean for the first time, I took a walk at Atria mall.

I went down to the concourse level.

The foot traffic at this level is encouraging. I see people dining at the eateries located on this floor. But there were sections of this floor that were unoccupied.

Then I went back up to the first floor (they call it G floor) where Antipodean is located.

BlackBall is a dessert outlet and there used to be one in Damansara Utama. My brother was a fan back then but I don't know if he  visits this one to enjoy the desserts.

There is a Putien here and I have yet to visit the one at 1 Utama.

Ah! This is the type of shop that I like. I love pretty crockery.

I don't buy these things anymore. I used to collect them for food photography purposes.

This is a Chinese restaurant although the name does not give me the impression that it is an eatery. It was the menu outside that was the give away. The restaurant was closed that day for a private event.

Then I came upon this Korean restaurant.

Bookmarked!

Like other malls. there are gyms here as well.

This one is a climbing gym. Not for me. I like sitting on my sofa (with something to eat) watching other people climbing on TV hah..hah..hah....

There are also entertainment outlets. Many years ago, a well-intentioned young man (old story here) took me on a first date at an arcade at Yaohan (now extinct).

I thought it was a terrible place to go to and I complained to my auntie. She then reported to his auntie and he got a dressing down from her. Sorry, I digress.

See the vacant shoplots?

This is peak lunch time.

Not a soul in sight.

Another Korean restaurant on the third floor.

On the same floor, vacant lots.

This mall is not doing well.

It was quiet and eerie on the top floor.

The I went back down to the lower floors.

This part is nice except that the plants are all plastic.

Finally at the concourse I saw this coming soon - Sour Little 7. It boasted "A bowl of sour soup fish can make you eat 3 bowls of rice". Oh dear. That can't be good. LOL!

Well, that was my little tour of Atria Shopping Gallery. It is sad to see that the mall is not getting much foot traffic. I used to hangout here a lot (that was more than 20 years ago) before the mall was renovated.

Back at The Starling, I spotted this machine next to the car park payment machine.

I was curious.

Wow. It is a perfume vending machine. You pay, extend your hand (wrist)/neck to the nozzle and press the relevant button to apply your perfume of choice. I wonder how many people used this machine.

    1. It is indeed! It should be doing well since it is located smack in the middle of a housing area. The cinema that was located at this mall shut down due to lack of patrons.

  2. Thank you for the walk about in Atria. That perfume vending machine is so cute. I wonder how many people will pay to get a spray of perfume. 😂
