Eggs Benedict

I love eggs! Done any way - fried, hard boiled, soft boiled, scrambled or poached. Is that all? Oh, omelette.

All of that I can do at home except poached. I have never attempted poaching eggs and don't intend to anytime soon. Let other people do it for me hah...hah...

Friday mum had a follow up doctor's appointment (for her broken finger, which has since healed) scheduled. As I was walking to my brother's house, my phone beeped just before I climbed the overhead bridge.

It was a text from mum. She wanted to cancel the appointment because she had diarrhea. Oh dear. So I texted back, OK. Mum's finger had already healed and I felt that the doctor visit was not necessary. Ah, just as well.

So I texted my brother to update him and I walked back to my office.

Later in the morning I went out to buy lunch for mum. Recently it had been raining. The Frangipanis were looking very healthy with lots of leaves and bunches of flowers.

I went to Twins Signature Roast Duck to tapau duck rice for mum. It is a nice change from chap fan. Then I headed to DJ and picked up the newspaper on the way.

After chit chatting with mum (her tummy had already settled by then) for almost an hour, I left my brother's house and headed to The Atria.

Yup, you (may have) guessed right. I went to Antipodean

This time I had an ice Long Black.

And it had an ice teddy bear in the drink just like the first time I visited (when I had an ice Latte).

On my previous visit, I saw a server bring a plate of Eggs Benedict to the next table. It looked good. Somehow other people's food looks better hah...hah...

So I got myself the Eggs Benedict with Bacon.

Hmmm... looks nice.

I cut the eggs and loved seeing the runny yolks ooze out.

Ooops! My teddy bear collapsed. LOL! The coffee was good. That was another good meal at Antipodean.

After the meal, I immediately headed back to DU. There was nothing much to see at The Atria.

The Hari Raya decorations at The Starling was still not up yet. But the merry go round is still there and the color theme was changed from red to green.

  1. Dear friend, the illustration and quote at the end is spot on! Eggs...yes, I love eggs too! However, would you believe that I have never tried eggs Benedict? In fact, I will have to look it up to find out exactly what it is! Your plates look delicious, dear PH!

  2. Glad to hear that your mom is feeling much better now. I know that it is easy for the elderlies to get diarrhea especially if they are on lots of meds because some meds have diarrhea as a side effects.

  3. Dear friend PH, the quote is so wise and the illustration so beautiful and cute. I love eggs too but I only eat them maybe on alternate days, they are good for my bones health and contain protein so no need any supplement. Lol teddy 🧸 bear 🐻. Recycling Chinese new year decorations of red colour to green colour. Plus this year is the year of the fire horse, so clever! Funfair theme.
