These days when I go to Halla Holla for my carb indulgence meal, I avoid the pastries (even though I love their tasty bakes).
Well, as you know from my past posts, I used to enjoy their croissants and special limited addition bakes like their Snail Bun, Cinnamon Bun and Mushroom Rendang Danish.
Last Friday, I had a Long Black with ice.
I had just come from my brother's house after dropping off mum's nasi lemak and having a nice chit chat with her.
I could not help ordering the Focaccia Beef Sandwich (again). It is my favorite and since I don't eat carbs often, I will not waste my opportunities on bad carbs.
It is not easy to eat this sandwich neatly. It is so thick and if I attempted to eat it like a regular sandwich, the fillings would spill out and make a mess.
But first. This iced coffee was so refreshing. It was so so hot outside.
Now. This is how I like to eat my sandwich.
I remove the top of the sandwich and transfer the avocado slices onto the crispy toasted bread.
Avocado on toast is the most delicious thing ever!
Wonderful!
Second slice. Imagine creamy avocado on crispy sourdough focaccia bread. Muaks!
Now left the roasted beef, cheese and tomatoes. Equally enjoyable.
Like a slice of pizza.
As I was munching away, the lady sitting opposite my table was served her chicken sandwich. After cutting into her sandwich and taking a dainty bite, she requested for sauce. I have no idea what sauce she was given.
I have had the chicken sandwich but since the filling is made with chicken breast, I did not enjoy it.
But the beef sandwich ...... I super love!
Well, I left the cafe happy. Right outside, there was this nice shiny car.
I am not a car person but I liked the color.
Meanwhile next door at The Neighbour Hoot, I saw their Father's Day promotion.
20% discount.
And Ribeye Wagyu MB2 270g at RM160.00.
I hope they did well yesterday evening.
Good morning! I love the way you ate the beef sandwich. This is how I would eat them too, separate them into pieces and eat them individually. It is raining over here in SG now. DeleteIf my sandwich is too thick, I'd eat it like how you would too....except, after deconstructing them, I use a fork & knife to eat coz I try not to make my hands messy when eating out. That's how I eat burgers too...lol! Some might frown upon that as a burger or sandwich should be eaten with hands! :D
ReplyDeletehah..hah... At Red Kettle I eat my burger the way you do - with fork and knife because it would be terribly messy using my hands. I hate getting my hands dirty at the restaurant.
