Last Friday, I was contemplating going somewhere else for lunch.
But no. Antipodean was calling my name. LOL!
On my way to buy lunch for mum, I came upon happy little children at the field outside The Starling (next to the "Secret Garden")
These kids are from the kindergarten located at Uptown 2.
After my chit chat with mum, I walked to The Atria. Along the way I saw this poster.
Travel Fair. Eh, that place sounds familiar. LOL!
At Antipodean I got my favorite ice Cappuccino.
I stirred my drink and my poor teddy bear sank! I noticed there were additional ice cubes in my coffee.
I have been wanting to try the Fish & Chips.
I read the description and I saw "beer battered". Oh! I have made Beer Battered Mushrooms. The fizziness of the beer makes the batter light and fluffy.
I didn't expect the fish to look like this.
I thought the fish was all right, the batter was crispy and the fish was fresh and flaky. But it wasn't an outstanding Fish & Chips for me.
The chips were crispy and well seasoned.
I saw that they had Hummingbird Cake that day so I ordered a slice (my second time). I like the artwork - that's a cat, ight?
Well, I loved the cake! One of my favorites here.
Then it was time to make the walk back to the office. I wished I could sit some more with another glass of coffee. LOL!
I always see this food truck but I don't know what time they open for business.
The roses at the house along the way back to DU were blooming again.
This rose looked like it was hiding.
Back at The Starling, there you have it, the travel fair.
There were not as many visitors compared to previous fairs.
This travel fair is over and the concourse is now occupied by the weekend bazaar.
Dear PH, the quote is beautiful and made me cry π’ happy tears πΉ π
ReplyDeleteI love ❤️ fish and chips. I am assuming that the fish π was cod?
It usually is, but I just wanted to ask.
Your photos are beautiful.
I love ❤️ the Happy Friday π with the cat π π» π⬛️ sketch on your dessert plate.
Happy tears are good! I don't know what fish they used but it is definitely not cod as it is very expensive over here.
DeleteEh, your fish looks very different to the one we had (the shape of it)...wonder if it's the same type of fish. For someone who have eaten so much fish & chips, you would know which ones fare better. Heheh, your teddy got a lot of snow (err, I mean foam) to stand upright this time...lol!
ReplyDeleteI was expecting it to look like the one your son ordered. Hah..hah... my teddy looked like it was surfing!
DeleteAgree with the last quote! Ah, friday is for fish & chipsπ. Let's go!
ReplyDeletehah..hah... Fish on Friday rhymes!
DeleteGood to see that the children are making full use of the space in the secret garden.
ReplyDeleteThe gardener must be very skillful to maintain such a healthy rose πΉ bush to have such a lovely πΉ
They didn't name this fish so I wonder what fish they used for fish and chip.
Have a wonderful weekend tomorrow
Every now and then I see the little kids and they are so cute! Have a wonderful weekend!
DeleteDear PH, I just hope they didn't use tilapia, because that is not a healthy fish.
ReplyDeleteHey, I love to do smΓ ll tΓ lks with little children with their mothers or fathers in my neighborhood playground and public library. I am single and I have no children so that fill up the "voids" for me. Most of the their parents are friendly and welcome me, except one or two who does not like their children talking to strangers. Plus they might be thinking if you love children so much, go and find someone to have children yourself and raise them yourself lah muahaha!
ReplyDeleteNice meal! The last quote and illustration is so encouraging and true. Sometimes beautiful girls may not have good hearts and can be physically violent, it is all in the news hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI am having salmon fish today with kimchi, Japanese Korean fusion food stall at my neighbourhood food court hee hee. Your fish and chips, hopefully is not dory fish.
ReplyDeleteThe rose shy lah, see you, she thought you are a man ππ lol. That's why she is hiding her face.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday. I am enjoying mine, listening to oldies while visiting your blog.
ReplyDeleteI like your cake plate with the cat pic and happy Friday wordings, cat and fish? Hee hee.
