Last Saturday at Kar Hiong, my brother announced that he was ordering wat tan hor and mum and I can order whatever we wanted to eat.
Well, OK. So I ordered 3 dishes for mum and I.
This is the Steamed Chicken with Salt (S). The gravy was very tasty but the chicken itself was so so.
My brother's wat tan hor was served after the dishes came to the table. No photo because I did want to bother my brother. He said that the wat tan hor was just OK, no wok hei. Definitely not Kar Hiong's specialty.
The bill was much less that what we usually pay and my brother and I were like - hmmm... this is how to save money LOL!
Good morning! The chicken looked pale in colour and I guess it wasn't fresh and tasty enough. Honey pepper pork ribs and garlic fried sweet potatoe leaves look good. No photo because I did want to bother my brother. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! No more chicken next time, I said that before but I forgot LOL!
DeleteI like to eat sweet potatoes leaves too. That pork dish also sounds good, I would prefer that than chicken. Since that ckt doesn't have wok hei, I don't think your brother would want to eat that again, right?
ReplyDeleteYah, I doubt if he would order that again.
DeleteSeem like your family love Kar Hiong's version of honey pepper sauce, but I never ordered any honey pepper dish in Dai Chow/Chinese restaurants.
ReplyDeleteThey do it very well and those dishes with honey pepper sauce are delicious.
DeleteAh, the cheaper bill is due to your brother having wat tan hor (which would have been cheaper than another dish) + you and your mom did not have fish in your 3 dishes, so that contributed to the lower cost too.
ReplyDeleteOh ya, fish is always a killer and also two of the dishes mum and I shared were S and M, which further contributed to the lower cost.
