I Love Sweet Potato Fries

It was datenite and again we went to Ke Ren Lai. The most ngam place for my partner.

Well, I like Ke Ren Lai too. So no peroblem.

My partner went for the same thing, the pan fried pork belly. His default side dish is the salad. That evening the portion size of the salad was bigger that usual.

The pork belly slices were of a good size.

As he cut the pork belly into bite sizes, my partner remarked that it would be great if we had kitchen scissors. LOL!

Well, I can't make fun of my partner by saying he always order the same old thing because I did too. LOL! The grilled chicken and this time instead of tofu, I got me the sweet potato fries. They were divine!

The chicken was also very good.

Our favorite drink but I forgot to request for less sugar. That evening both of us suffered from leg cramps!

So that was our datenite. We should go for Japanese next time.

  1. Hi dear PH, I love the Dr. Mandell illustration at the end of your post.
The pork belly and sweet potato fries look scrumptious 😋
I have never tried sweet potato fries but I love sweet potatoes.
I have been asking a couple of restaurant owners in my area if they could incorporate them in their menu.
I love your photos. I hope you have a lovely week ahead, dear friend. 😘

    1. Hi Linda! I love sweet potatoes too, If you have the chance, do try sweet potato fries. I think you will love them! It is good that you suggested to the restaurant owners to include sweet potatoes to their menu. I hope you have a lovely week too!

  2. I love sweet potato fries too! ;) I'm surprised they served the pork belly in a long strip (and not cut up). If the knife is not sharp enough, it's not easy to cut through (I'd prefer kitchen scissors too...lol). Your partner is exactly like my husband...they need rice & they can order the same thing (all the time if it's to their liking)...wakakakaka! How is it that you get leg cramps when the drink is too sweet...but not when you eat sweet desserts, pastries or cakes (which I don't remember you mentioning).

    1. They are so good, right? hah..hah... Oh, your husband is like that too LOL! Ya, I try to get him to try other dishes, but nope he will have what he had before. If I wat sweet things earlier in the day, I won't get leg cramps because the sugar would have been used up. If I take it in the evening (that's when I am not active) then the leg cramps will happen.

  3. I love to eat sweet potatoes too. I always order lei cha drink at this eatery because it is their specialty drink 😋
A few days ago, while I was sleeping, I also got leg cramps on my left betis. So painful that I woke up. I think I was dehydrated that was why I got the leg cramp.
Have a good week ahead! 💕

    1. Good! I find sweet potatoes tastier then regular potatoes. Is the lei cha drink sweet? I am curious about it. My leg cramps happen at my betis and also my foot, especially the big toe. Sometimes happens behind my peha. Very nuisance as I have to get up to shake it off. You have a good week ahead too!

  4. I would usually order the same thing once i found it ngam with my tastebud. There were times when i was feeling adventurous & ordered different things but immediately regretted it when it doesn't taste as good as my usual order. Play safe is better for peace of mind.

    1. Ya, that makes sense and I do it too, the same dish that tastes good and no disappointment. Or else I feel that I wasted my money and calories. LOL!
