Almost 36 Hours

Guess who is coming to The Starling

Finally the space vacated by Truly Wine (next door to Kam Kee Cafe) is to be occupied.

Paradise Dynasty. I wasn't excited because I was hoping for a cafe much like Red Kettle (or Antipodean) that serves things like Big Breakfast and great sandwiches and such.

But well, this might be a place that my partner is more partial to for our datenites hee..hee...

Outside Jaya Grocer there was a promotion for snacks.

Nasi Lemak flavored potato chips.

Come(s) with "Real" ikan bilis (anchovies) and kacang tanah (peanuts) it said on the package.

This was outside RT Bakery.

TK Bakery is promoting mooncakes.

Before I crossed over to DJ, I went to investigate The Rustic Grill. There was a menu outside the premises.

Oh! Unfortunately I can't read that.

It looks like this must be a new operator taking over the premises, serving Chinese food. I wonder if they serve the pork leg without rice. It's so glossy and delicious looking in the photo.

I think the signboard may be changed soon.

The interior is almost the same as before with some modifications. There were some renovation works done a couple of months ago.

So what's for lunch? No food. I did not eat that day.

I only had an ice black and not a latte because milk would break my fast. Well, I fasted for almost 36 hours (broke the fast around 4:30am the next morning, I fasted for approximately 35 hours).

I hope to build up to 48 hours. Don't know if I can tahan (endure) 72 hours. It takes practice and a long time to achieve the ability. Maybe I can. Maybe not.

  2. Good morning 🌞
Congratulations 👏🏻🎉 for fasting 35 hours. Recently I only fasted for 24 hours. I definitely cannot do over 48 hours because I have tried and didn't feel well enough to continue.
That pork trotters look good on the board. Maybe it is a place my spouse would like to go eat the trotters.
    Have a good day ❤️

  3. Not a big fan of xiao long bao. Tasted the authentic one in China back in 2018. Nothing to shout about. Lol

  4. Oh dear, I always believe it's bad business to start business without a proper signboard (I think there was one in your area recently...and they closed not long after)...lol! :D Oh, this Paradise Dynasty is something like Din Tai Fung...and reportedly the food is good, so you have chance to try. ^_~
