A public holiday smack in the middle of the week is no fun (according to me). I like the ones that fall on Monday, Friday or Sunday (which makes Monday a replacement holiday).
I was hungry and I thought it would be a good idea to eat breakfast and then settle mum's lunch. So when I come back to the office, I can work without any interruption.
I was at Yin's Sourdough Cafe at around 7:40 am (they open early at 7:30 am). It was a cloudy morning and as I was waiting for my order, I heard the rain. Yikes!
I love the rain but when I need to walk to deliver food, the rain is not a good thing.
But I shall not let the rain ruin my mood. This ice Cappuccino was very uplifting.
Shortly after, the Egg Benedict was served.
Poached eggs and smoked salmon served on croissant. There was also a serving of cubed mango.
I liked the taste of the Hollandaise sauce.
The smoked salmon is of good quality, not too salty and fresh. I have had very fishy smoked salmon here although I did not want to say so in the post.
The mango was sweet and wonderful. I have not eaten mango in ages!
My next destination was Say Yes Cafe to pick up nasi lemak for mum. The rain was not too heavy so I walked quickly without using my umbrella.
I stopped briefly outside this Thai restaurant to snap the potted plants hah..hah...
These tiny Chrysanthemums are a new addition.
The rain got heavier and I had to use my umbrella when walking to my brother's house. I had to walk in a zig zag pattern to avoid water that pools on the side of the road. There are certain parts where the water pools at the center.
When I was eating breakfast, I saw this Instagram post. Halla Holla is ending their Sandwich of the Day promo on 21-06-2026.
I walked past the cafe and saw a few tables occupied. Good for them!
After the food delivery, I walked back to the office. It was still raining and my shoes got wet >.< Just as well I did not stay home hoping to do gardening. I would have been frustrated!
Well, I had a very good breakfast and a very productive day at the office!

ReplyDeleteThe quote at the end of your post is so true!!! Another thing I have said for years now....there are laws about drinking (or doing drugs) and then driving. I think if someone is very, very angry, they should wait to calm down before getting behind the wheel! Yes, anger can make people do some things that they might not do when they are calm and in control.

Now that you mentioned it, the smoked salmon (in Halla Holla) did look a bit suspicious all cut up like that. Nothing is worse than fishy smoked salmon! >_< Although walking in the rain is nicer coz it's cooler, I also dislike it when my shoes and legs get wet (and dirty coz you tend to kick up dirt from the road when your sandals go flip-flopping in the rain)! :D
