Blame It On The Rain

Another rainy one! On a Tuesday (sometime in September) it rained cats and dogs. And elephants.

I left my brother's house (after visiting mum) and was caught in the strong wind and rain. I had to hang on to my umbrella for dear life!

After crossing the road, I took a short breather at the Petronas station and then continued with my (very wet) walk. By that time my shoes were soaking wet.

As I made my way along the shophouses, I decide that I should settle my lunch at Halla Holla and sit out the rain.

Coffee must drink! The coffee here is good.

Since they were having a promotion of sandwich with free coffee, I took up the offer. I selected the Smoked Salmon Croissant.

The sandwich is served with a well dressed salad (balsamic dressing).

I like that the generous serving of smoked salmon was not salty. When I finished my sandwich, the rain still didn't stop. But I made my way back to the office with squishy shoes.

A few days before that (oopss!!!), I went to try the Cherry Tomatoes and Onion Focaccia. Conclusion - the Olive and Garlic is more to my taste.

  1. Yes, there was a day when it was raining heavily in SG (cannot remember in October or late September) and the wind was so strong that it sent me the chills even though I was not in an aircon room. It must have felt uncomfortable being wet and in squishy shoes. Did you have a pair of spare sandals or shoes in the office? Ahhh, I like smoked salmon. Good choice.

    1. Unfortunately, I did not have spare sandals or shoes in the office. So I walked around barefoot! LOL!

  2. I like your "reasoning & excuse"...blame it on the rain (I love that song even though it was a scam...lol). I should try that some time...blame it on something when I next "curi makan".....wuahahahaha!

  4. I must reread all your posts on Halla Holla so that when I finally go there, I know what to eat.

I know the feeling of washing in totally soaked shoes. If full rubber shoes such as Crocs rubber still tolerable but if full cloth shoes then the wet cloth shoes would feel very heavy.
