Naughty #15 : Huang Soy Bar, Damansara Kim

It was unfortunate that this visit to Huang Soy Bar, Damansara Kim happened on a particularly stressful Saturday (this happened many months ago).

Actually, I had no idea it was going to be a stressful Saturday afternoon until my Soya Seri Muka and Sago Pudding was served.

Let's start from the beginning.

I chanced upon this dessert cafe much earlier and took some pictures.

I thought that I might drop by some time to try the soy desserts.

I am sorry the photo of the menu is not clear. You can click to enlarge it.

It's on the first floor so you have to climb a flight of stairs.

You order and pay at the counter. This was where I sat. The counter is at the front and you can see it as soon as you come to the top of the stairs.

 The decor is quite tasteful.

As soon as I was served, a message come through from the nursing home. We had visited earlier and that morning dad was experiencing bleeding (like back in 2023).

Dad wanted to talk to me. So I asked the nurse to call me (dad does not have a mobile phone and refused to learn how to use one, thus causing much inconvenience).

Dad asked me to tell my brother to bring him medicine and a pair of slippers. Pronto! Of course I wasn't going to disturb my brother. I told dad that I would take care of it.

So I quickly sipped my Soya Seri Muka which was very nice, not too sweet.

This Sago Pudding (pretty much Sago Gula Melaka) was lovely. But under the circumstances, I was not able to properly enjoy my dessert.

I quickly rushed through it, walked to the pharmacy (for the medication) and Mr DIY (for the slippers). Then I got my partner to help rush me to the home.

When I got there, the nurse discovered that there were two strips of the medicine that dad wanted in his cupboard. Well, there is no harm having extra.

After making sure that dad was OK and assuring him not to worry and to rest and relax, my partner and I left.

When you are at this stage in your life where one or both your parents are in poor health, you have to fulfill your obligations and responsibilities. Just as much as your parents sacrificed their time and money for you when you were growing up, the time will come for you to do the same for them in their time of need.

Poodie is a climber.

Just like her mama.

Poodie, please make sure you know how to climb down. Or else Ah Ma will have to call the Abang Bomba!

Well, luckily she made her way down safely.

  3. I have to count my blessings everyday because I know that there are those who Kais pagi makan pagi, Kais petang makan petang, so they wouldn't be able to do what you mentioned here even though they may want to do so very badly because they themselves also are finding it difficult to make ends meet for themselves.

  6. It's very wise of your dad to do without a smart phone as it only gets scam calls most of the time. At least the nursing home has your contact number they and your dad can recognise your number and voice.

    1. My contact would be via the nurse, Sometimes she records my dad's requests and sends to me.
