(This happened in May 2023. I think.) After trying the Hummingbird Cake, I waited to try the Black Forest Cake hee..hee..
As usual, coffee is a must. I love the Flat White.
And then the cake.
Very nice indeed. Very moist and chocolaty with black cherries. The cakes here are very pricey. RM18.90 a slice. I won't have anymore.
This is the Cajun Prawn Pork Burger. You see the bacon peeking out of the bun?
There are two prawns in there and they are right under the bun.
Well, that was so good!
And now for a spot of Belle Belle. She is very obedient and consistent.
After dinner, it is up the stairs to her usual spot. That is where she sleeps. Then at midnight (haiz!) she comes downstairs, munches on kibbles (which I purposely leave for her) and up on the sofa to kacau mommy (when I was sleeping downstairs then). After that she hops off and goes back upstairs or she hangs around downstairs until I wake up.
I am now 29 days back on my carnivore diet reset. Definitely feeling very much better without carbs. Woohoo!!
I also noticed that cakes and coffees are getting very expensive nowadays. That's how the shops and cafes could survive better than restaurants with easy shelf displays and coffee machines. No need chefs and so much kitchen utensils to cook.
ReplyDeleteI remember that Black Forest cakes were a trend and craze during the late 80s to 90s. It was a must for all birthdays until I jelak. Now I miss Black Forest cakes and cannot even find them so easily.
I have always loved Black Forest cake and I used to buy from Secret Recipe from time to time. This type of cake it is not worth baking at home because so complicated.

DeleteOoooo...blackforest! I can't remember the last time I had that! Now that I'm on a low/no sugar diet, that, I'm afraid it is out of bounds. The burger looks gorgeous though - don't have any here with all that bacon. The ones we have here are all quite ordinary, nothing spectacular...not anything I would come running back for more.

Deleteur belle belle is so obedient unlike my 'office guard' who gone venture out and only available during night time. And sometimes nowhere to be seen at all! I miss my office guard so much!

DeleteRM18.90 for a small slice of cake like that is considered quite expensive even for cafe standard, the reasonable price shouldn't be exceed RM15, if you ask me. =.="
