Happy Birthday To Me

This morning I woke up before 4:00am (I beat my alarm clock to it) and I thought to myself, am I already 55 years old today?

Then I did a quick (well, it wasn't that quick, I suck at math) mental calculation, eh belum lagi lah. I am only 54 wahahahaha!!! Muda lagi mak oi!

Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri was the first to wish me.

These days, they are trying to be very friendly. Most people panic when they receive email for LHDN, but I am used to it. I once even received a warrant of arrest (obviously not for my arrest) and it was great fun scaring the nasty client heh...heh..heh...

So anyway. Birthday means makan! I already pre-planned (as I always do) what I was going to enjoy for lunch today - Curry Mee Supreme from Annie-1 woohoo!

Annie 1 has opened for dine-in and I purposely went early, just in case. I was very pleased that very few tables were taken.

So I sat down, placed my order and paid. Nowadays paying via e-wallet is even more convenient as most merchants display the DuitNow QR code. With this QR code, you can use any e-wallet to pay.

This is the yummilicious iced Ipoh White Coffee, the best in the neighborhood. I requested for less sweet.

Then my food arrived.

Eh? Didn't I order Curry Mee Supreme? Then I looked at my receipt. I ter-accidentally ordered the Pork Noodles instead. How come?

See, in the past, the code F3626 was for Curry Mee Supreme (I committed it to memory). In my haste (or excitement), I failed to notice that the menu was somewhat revamped. Never mind.

The noodles were super loaded and the broth had a deep flavor. No regrets making this mistake.

They were generous with the chee yau char which were fresh and crispy.

I was so thrilled with my accidental order.

There were loads of ingredients inside. Definitely satisfying and so worth it.

Ah, I got a very nice birthday present from my brother.

Look look.

Food related as always.

What's in the box?

Cashew nuts!

These are really good!

Tonight my lahling and I are going out for our first date nite in a long time. Yay!

  7. Sometimes something accidental turns out far better than we expect...and that bowl of pork noodles sure look fully loaded. That's the problem, when we have something so good at a certain place, we don't give their other dishes a chance...we keep wanting to eat that something that's so good...lol!

Your brother knows the way to your heart so well...through snacks! :D Enjoy your first dine-in date night with your lahling...will it be Chinese rice dishes? Kekeke! ;D

    1. Thank you, Kris, I did enjoy my dine-in date night hee..hee.. I have always held the pork noodles by Champs as the gold standard (in Damansara Uptown lah) but I am so glad that Annie 1's is just as good! Now I can have pork noodles more regularly hee..hee.. Yup, my brother and I are "satu kepala". We love to eat and we love to snack!

  9. Belated Happy Birthday PH!
My order at Annie 1 is always their dry Wonton Mee, while hubby likes their curry mee. Since he also like pork noodles, I'll get him to order it next time, then I can have a taste too. LOL
