Not So Rainy Sunday

Sunday I woke up feeling drained and tired. As if I was sick with the flu.

I had to drag myself out of bed to go downstairs to feed my kids hah..hah... Sometimes (just sometimes) I wished I did not have cats.

Later that morning, my partner and I went to Aeon for our grocery run.

Lunch. I recently replenished my steak supply.

Air fried. I had no strength to use the cast iron pan. No lah. These days (the truth is) I am lazy to use the pan.

But I had the energy and was not too lazy to fry two eggs using the wok.

Then I had to add some chonggak kimchi and my favorite chili and garlic condiment.

There you go, my delicious Sunday lunch. I am really embracing fermented vegetables. I find them delicious and so convenient. Just scoop some and plonk onto my food.

Nothing beats a fatty piece of steak!

Then in the afternoon it sort of rained. Just for s short while. I prefer it to really pour when it rains. Rain it like you meant it, rain!

Of course when I am safely in the house. I wouldn't want a heavy downpour when I am out or if I had a leaky roof. So selfish hah..hah...

Dinner.

Delicious savory, sourish kimchi jigae. This has got to be my favorite soup.

Then I watched TV. Remember the late Hulk Hogan? He was quite a character. I watched Hulk Hogan : Real American on Netflix and it was interesting and entertaining. Even my late grandma was a wrestling fan hah..hah... Not me though.

I finished Deviant and I am now reading Evidence of Love, a true crime story. After watching the series Love & Death, I got very curious about the case and wanted to learn more and this book did not disappoint.

  3. Oh, I watched that series Love & Death too...very entertaining. I'm sure the book is just as good, if not better. I'm also shocked that she got acquitted...who would strike someone 41 times in self defense. If she had control of the axe, I would think you strike a few times in self-defense and then run the hell out of there!

    1. It's good, right? hah..hah... That's what I thought too. It was a bit of an overkill for self defense. I was also shocked that she was found not guilty or murder. Perhaps if the prosecution charged her with manslaughter, she may have been convicted since she did not start out with any intention to kill but killed in the process of self defense and then went too far.

    2. Apparently, if you can prove self-defense, then she cannot be convicted for murder or manslaughter coz once self-defense is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, then the killing is considered justified and not a crime, leading to acquittal. So, even if the prosecution had charged her with manslaughter, she would still be acquitted. She had one hell of a defense team.

    3. Oh I see! She was fortunate to go free. It's so important to have a smart defense team. Just like OJ Simpson, he got away with it!

    4. Oh, this one, I'm not sure if it was a brilliant defense team....or a very poor prosecution team! :O Ya, I (along with many) think OJ got away with it...who cannot remember the infamous gloves that didn't fit..lol!

    5. The prosecution side in OJ's case was at a disadvantage due to many mistakes made by the police/forensic team which helped the defense (who were very clever) to cast doubt on the evidence that were collected. Wah! You and I are such crime enthusiasts LOL! BTW, yes, the book on the Love & Death case is very good since there is a lot more information. For eg after breaking off with Allan, Candy had an affair with another man! LOL!
