Solo At Ke Ren Lai

After visiting Ke Ren Lai with my partner, I visited on my own for lunch.

Earlier that day, my favorite breakfast. I can eat this soup everyday and not get tired of it.

They have Kopi C on the menu, so I was keen to try. Oh, it was very good! I requested for ice Kopi C with "no sugar". The drink was served chilled with very little ice.

My lunch choice was Grilled Orange Sauce Fried Chicken Set.

And I added this Century Egg with Spicy Dressing. I love century eggs but I found the dressing too strong - very spicy hot and a bit too sweet for my liking. It was also very garlicky.

I chose this Grilled Orange Sauce Fried Chicken because I enjoyed it very much when I had it on datenite.

Notice something? I requested for "no dressing" on the salad. The chicken was as good as the first time I tried it.

I chose the same side dish of fried tofu with minced meat.

So that was my lunch which was my second and last meal of the day.

My steps after my post meal walk.

  1. Dear friend, I love ❤️ the quote. I want to get some kind of watch ⌚️ that I can use to keep track of my eating and exercise, overall health and sleep. I am a bit hesitant only because I don't know how to set it up.
My friend has this type of watch. She is 2 years younger than me and her son set it up for her.
Your meals look very tasty 😋

    1. I am like you! I wanted to get such a watch, Fitbit or something like that but the thought of setting it up discouraged me. We need young people to help LOL! Perhaps your friend's son could help you.

  2. Wow! Good to know that ke ren lai got good ice Kopi C 😋 but I think I will still order the lei cha ice drink as cannot get lei cha ice drink anywhere else.
Tofu with minced meat I also like.
Thanks for the review, I will stay away from that century eggs with spicy dressings as I won't like that spicy dressings.
Good that they fulfilled your request for no salad dressings. 👍 😊
    Have a good weekend! 💕

  3. Good morning it is raining cats and dogs over at SG side, making the weather cooling and nice to sleep in, but I usually wake up regularly at the same time every day in case of disrupting my sleep cycle. On top of that, my stomach will be calling me to wake up to have breakfast. Hah hah! Have a good week ahead! 🌧️ ☔

  4. Glad to hear that the grilled orange sauce fried chicken was as good as the first time. Any sweetness or saltishness can be balanced off by the salad without dressing and the iced kopi C. Nice! That is how I eat my meals too. But oops, guess you did not finish the century egg and the white rice.

    1. I finished the century eggs after removing as much of the dressing as possible. But I ate all the rice. LOL!

  5. Or maybe you did finish all the white rice because that was your second and last meal of the day.

  6. The quote and illustration sound negative and sad. What happened?

  7. When I saw the first photo of the century eggs, I thought to myself that the abundant sauce & condiments seem to overpower the taste of the century eggs (beforekk I read further that the dressing was too strong). I like to eat it the traditional way...only with vinegared ginger in order to taste the pungency of the yolk (that's what a century egg is all about anyway)!

    2. Kris : The photo on the menu did not show the sauce LOL! So I thought the sauce could be underneath the eggs or served separately. Mana tau it came like that. I also like to eat the century eggs either plain or with pickled ginger.

    3. Lotus: Hi 5...that's the best way to eat century eggs hands down...hah..hah!

PH: Oh dear, I hate it when the menu photo is nothing like what they serve...then again, you were trotting with danger with the words "spicy dressing"...lol!
