Prawn Toast

I had this meal during the Chinese New Year period at Red Kettle, The Starling.

To be honest, I was not drawn to this dish on the Chinese New Year menu. But on an earlier visit, Mr Yap, the manager was waxing lyrical about the Prawn Toast. He said he loved it. So that piqued my interest.

It does look very good. Golden and crispy, coated with sesame seeds. It was accompanied by a sprig of coriander (which I love) and a dipping sauce (something like Thai dipping sauce).

This Prawn Toast is made with prawn wrapped in prawn paste rolled in seaweed and then coated with breadcrumbs and sesame seeds. It is then deep fried until golden brown and crispy. Quite nice but not something I would go crazy about.

I had to have the Pistachio Dirty Latte again.

It was delightful! But because it is sweet (even though barely so) I don't want to have this too frequently.

Now let my cats entertain you (the cat fans).

These were photos taken last year.

Ah Boi is ever the model but only when she is in the mood.

I had to distract Girl with a tree branch.

Then Kittie Kat came for some WWE action.

Girl is super annoyed.

Whoa!

Girl managed to get Kittie Kat off.

Blue Eyes came to visit.

This photo was shared by my Singapore friend, Lotus, who also loves cats.

  2. Good morning 🌞🌄 my dear friend PH, the quote at the end is very encouraging, I try my best to remember this quote. By the way, I cannot find the little box on top of your blog header where I can key in keywords such as lotus to search for posts related to it, are you able to help me?

  3. The prawn toasts remind me of dim sum hee hee. I think I will like these fried prawns. Lovely photos of your furkids and description of their daily life. I enjoy looking at them. Blue eyes looks like Persian cat. 🐈😺
