Thursday Public Holiday

Yesterday was a public holiday, the birthday of the Sultan of Selangor. Daulat Tuanku!

Public holiday = gardening in my books.

So.

Another Zinnia bloomed but it was much smaller. While I was busy pruning my plants and pulling out weeds, Kittie Kat had a snooze.

So did Ah Boi.

Girl and Poodie were outside somewhere.

Lunch. Two pieces of fish, a bowl of soup and sauerkraut.

I am loving fish. I should eat fish more regularly. It is a nice change.

My soup was not bad.

This was dinner the day before.

Air fried beef trimmings.

Seasoned with sea salt.

The same soup.

And sauerkraut.

Which is more than 2 months old.

Very good for gut health.

Earlier in the week, I snapped this photo of my brother's neighbor's Japanese Rose. I used to have these in my garden but they died.

Then I came upon this pineapple plant.

It was fruiting.

And this beautiful Rose. The sun was shining very brightly, so this photo is overexposed.

  1. Lovely flowers πŸ’ dear friend. Your cats are beautiful. Great quote. πŸ‘ I don't think I would like sauerkraut, but I do love ❤️ cabbage. Stir fried cabbage, cabbage in soup, and coleslaw I love ❤️
I love fish and yours looks delicious πŸ˜‹

    1. Thank you, Linda! I used to dislike sauerkraut too. I suppose I acquired a taste for it. Like you I also enjoy stir fried cabbage, cabbage in soup and coleslaw.

  3. Love your homemade food, they looked lovely except for the fermented veggies which I had not tried before. Your cats 🐈 what else can I say. Cute, adorable, cheeky as usual. Ahh, your flowers πŸ’ 😍 πŸ’› but hor, your brother's neighbour's pineapple (ong lye), I don't like, ouch! So spiky! Even though ONG the pineapple symbolise good things coming. Thanks for sharing the photos and quote. Ciao.

    1. I wonder if that ong lai is decorative or can eat since I have never seen a red one like that at the supermarket.

  5. I have stopped my homemade fermented cabbage for a while, time to make it again so I can finish my remaining apple cider. :P
