My Favorite BBQ Spice Rub

This BBQ spice rub is excellent for chicken or any meat. In fact I have also used it to season fried arrowhead chips and it made the chips so tasty.

There are only 6 ingredients in the mix - brown sugar, cayenne pepper, sea salt, garlic powder, cumin powder and smoked paprika. You can play with the ratios or add on other spices (like black pepper) to find your best flavors.

BBQ Spice Rub
Adapted from : Smitten Kitchen

Ingredients :
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika

Method :
1. Add all the above ingredients and whisk/stir to combine.
2. If not using immediately or if there is excess, store in an airtight container in the fridge.

    1. It's a good brand and I use it often. It's best to store the spices in the fridge or else they cake up and harden.

  4. Thanks for showing us the exact brand of ingredients that you use so that we can copycat you exactly. :D Have a good weekend!

  5. I use this brand too...and as much as I'd like to buy many of these spices, I don't cook often (or cook often enough with recipes using such spices), so they end up expiring before they're even 1/4 used. I ended up throwing a lot away but now I think twice before buying since they're getting so expensive :(

    1. I used to throw a lot away too :( Now I make sure to buy only the ones I use often. And I keep them in the fridge as they tend to harden over time at room temperature.
