Awesome In A Jar

You know I love mutton. And naturally, I love lamb too. Lamb curry? Oh yes! Can curried lamb in a jar taste good?

I have eaten canned chicken/beef curry. Sorry, I hate it. I will never eat canned curry ever. But curried lamb in a jar?

I admit I was skeptical but this comes from the people from Five & Two Foods (non-halal) and having tasted their Bacon Jam & Angry Bacon,  I went ahead and ordered a bottle.

And by the way, if you want to a review on their bacon jam and candied bacon, you can check out Kris' post.

This little jar cost me RM20.00 (180g). I may be stingy, but when it comes to good food, I am willing to spend.

The nutritional information indicates 12 servings per jar. What? Twelve? No, no. It is only good for 2 small servings as far as I am concerned.

Since the curry is free from preservatives, I kept it in the fridge even before opening the jar.

This is how it looks like.

I scooped some out and heated the curry in the microwave. It smelled wonderful.

Gosh. The taste. Spicy. Aromatic. Complex. Unique. I was in love. Perhaps a little addicted.

Suffice to say, I had to have more. I know, at RM20.00 per bottle, this has got to be a once in a blue moon treat for me.

But considering the fact that I am still wearing clothes, shoes and carrying a handbag from 3-4 years ago, I think I deserve to pamper myself 😜

  2. I am surprised that it's free from preservatives which is good & healthy. Hey, you eat expensive stuffs and even your rice is long grained quality!! Wow!

  3. Will you be writing a review on Bacon Jam & Angry Bacon soon? I think the curried lamb at RM20.00 per 180g is still better priced than those expensive bak kwa sliced meat so you definitely can afford to eat more of this. I am not that interested in their pork products but this curried lamb, I am seriously considering ordering it to try.

  4. I was wondering when you'll write a post on this. Yes, I totally agree...this is awesomeness in a jar...especially the bacon jam! Nothing like those cheap canned curries, that's why we pay a premium price for it and I'm so glad you loved it :) Since you like this curried lamb so much, I think you'd enjoy the curried pork too. It's probably made with almost similar Indian spices which I find a bit too overpowering for my taste buds (especially one spice which I don't know what it is since I don't cook curries and I'm not as familiar with Indian spices as you). That's why those who enjoy Indian curries (which I'm not really a fan of) will love their products very much. As to their claim of 12 servings, I'm with you...what 12 servings? More like 12 teaspoons...wakakakaka! :D

Oh, so you tried their Angry Bacon (and not their Candied Bacon). I wonder how that taste like...would you be writing another post on that? If you do reorder (in a blue moon), I urge you to get the candied bacon. I find that it taste even better when microwaved for a few seconds....mmmmm! ;)

    1. I have tried the candied bacon which I think is awesome especially the Bahia flavored one. But I find it too sweet. I mean, it is after all candied bacon, so it's supposed to be sweet. The Angry Bacon I absolutely love and I ordered another bottle hee..hee... Ya, we'll see, I might write about it.

  5. I heard the couple of AfoRadio. Seems that we can order online and they will send but only within Malaysia. Will check out the website when the time comes - I still have the sambal bacon and the Angry bacon, yet to open those.
