Some Kind of Vegetable Dish

This vegetable dish I learnt from a blog that is no longer active. Some of you who read Malay blogs may know Queenie of Semalam Berlalu Esok Menanti. I am not putting a link to this blog because it is now basically a shell, all posts have been deleted.

I loved Kak Q's blog because she's hilarious. The woman was a total riot and reading her blog was one of the highlights of my blog hopping activities.

I have no idea why Kak Q has gone AWOL but I respect her decision. I regret not jotting down her many recipes and I still miss her. Kak Q, wherever you are, I hope that you are well and happy.

  1. I love ladies fingers and, whenever I see it at chap fan stalls, I want it...and it's usually cooked this way too (with sambal belacan)....and I do like the addition of four angle beans though I find this to be rather unique with the addition of egg which I've not seen (must try that out)! ^.^

I'm also wondering why someone would delete all their posts even if the blog is no longer active. Why not just leave it there for her readers since a lot of hard work was put in to write those posts. Like you say, we must respect her decision coz, after all, it was her blog and she must have her reasons.

    1. I wonder about the same thing too when I read your post that says that all posts were deleted. Most people would just leave the posts there when the blog is no longer active like SK. I guess maybe she wants to publish a hardcopy book of her recipes so there may be copyright issues if the recipes are still available online on her unactive blog but then I am just guessing here only.

    2. Kris : Me too! LOL! Sometime, they cook it with oyster sauce, simple and yet good.

  2. This dish looks like the 4 heavenly kings dish (sei dai tin wong) which has long beans, four angled beans, lady fingers, petai or sometimes brinjals stirfried with sambal but the taste is slightly different since you added eggs and also fish sauce. As long as it is not overly salty and spicy, I would like to eat this dish very much as I like to eat almost I think I can say all vegetables. I can't think of any vegetables that I don't like to eat.

  3. Combination of fried egg with sambal sound promising! I have homegrown lady's finger but the produce is too little and I'll normally just steam it for my daughter.

  5. This dish sounds like the restaurant version - spicy sambal 4 types of beans including the stinky beans and sometimes with egg plant added too. I love this dish very much.

  10. Great idea when you do not have enough of one veg. Our Four Heavenly King sis a mixture of four...and that day, my missus cooked my ladies fingers with bitter gourd. There wasn't enough for one dish.
